In today's meditation, we make space to slow down. Oftentimes, we struggle to slow down because transitioning from an active mindset to a slower mindset is messy, so we resist it. This meditation helps with the transition by giving you guidance and space to practice taking back the energy that you've given away and returning it to your heart and body so that you may reap the benefits of your own energetic flow.

Hello and welcome to today's meditation.

I'm your host,

Allison Hart.

Thanks for joining me today in a process called making space for slowing down.

And we're going to do this by taking back our energy.

After a long day or week,

Especially if you're multitasking,

Moving quickly,

Making space for completing a lot of things or making space for people,

Situations that may have drained you,

It can actually be easier to stay in that operating mode in the evening when you just want your brain to be quieter or on the weekend when you're desperate for a different pace.

Sometimes we need some help transitioning into slowing down.

And that's what this meditation is about.

Sometimes we wake up and we're still on go mode and it's coursing through our bones.

This meditation is to help you let that state of mind go so that you may give back energy to the places they belong and get in touch with the energy of yourself in this moment.

That way,

You have a better chance of knowing and assessing your needs and your flow for today.

Wherever you find yourself,

Try to get reasonably comfortable,

Whatever that looks like for you.

I invite you to close your eyes.

Imagine your eyelashes being gently weighed down toward the tops of your cheeks.

Imagine a light pressure across your eyelids,

Allowing them to feel naturally weighted and calmed.

Turn your attention first to your breath.

There is no need to control or change it.

Your breath does not need help to give you all you need in this moment.

You're here to witness its perfect harmony with your body.

Follow the cool air in through your nose,

Down the back of your throat and into your lungs.

Follow the warm air back out.

Notice the chest rise and fall along with your shoulders.

Notice your tummy rounds and then flattens with each breath.

All of these sensations,

Notice maybe the one you experienced the most at this time.

And if one does not stand out,

Feel free to go back and forth between the sensations of breathing.

Now I want you to imagine that you are seated in the center of your heart.

Notice that you have many heartstrings going out in different directions to things you've had to give yourself to.

Imagine these strings of vibrant golden liquid flowing out from your heart to all the things you've given to.

Notice how much energy is still flowing to these things,

Even though you're no longer there.

If you'd like,

You can imagine what's at the end of those strings too,

But that's not necessary.

It could be work,

A certain task or project,

A person who's taking up space in your mind,

Household duties,

Family,

A to-do list,

Something you can't quite resolve that's bugging you.

Notice the golden energy flowing to each string.

Don't try too hard to imagine what's at the end of them.

Just notice how much of your energy is still going outward.

Sounded in the center of your heart,

You're going to imagine saying a few things out loud so that all the cells in your body hear you and your intentions.

Allow yourself to gently focus on one heartstring and its flow to one outside area you're still giving energy to.

Say out loud,

I release you.

I'm taking back my energy.

You'll be there if and when I need to plug in again,

But for now it's time to unplug and withdraw.

I don't need to change your control that you will bid for my attention.

I understand that I will direct energy your way when I need to.

For now,

This energy returns to me and you will keep yours until next time.

Notice your breath while gazing at your heartstring.

Inhale cool air and with your next exhale,

Imagine the energy flow reversing,

Slowly filling your heart back up with that same golden flow.

While this is occurring,

Become aware of how it feels to be returning your energy to you.

Can you feel how much you've needed this?

Can you sense that this is the energy that's meant to rejuvenate and nourish you?

Allow every last drop to be meant for you and notice how the heartstrings starts to go dull,

Lifeless as it's meant to.

Fading more and more until it is fully emptied back into your heart and returned to your body.

Imagine now all the heartstrings that are still sending energy out and we're going to imagine you saying those same things.

Repeat after me.

I release you.

I'm taking back my energy now.

You'll be there if and when I need to plug in again.

But for now it's time to unplug and withdraw.

I don't need to change your control that you will bid for my attention.

Having things at the end of my heartstrings is normal and natural.

I understand that I will direct energy your way when I need to.

For now this energy is for me.

And again notice your breath while gazing at your heartstrings.

Feeling the cool air and with your next exhale imagine the energy flow begin to reverse from all heartstrings.

Slowly filling your heart back up with the same golden flow.

Make your time to notice how it feels to be slowly receiving back your energy.

Notice how it feels as it surrounds your heart center and returns to the places you need to feel your energy the most.

See that it travels down your arms and legs,

Up through your throat and all over your scalp,

Down to your fingertips,

Down to the tips of your toes.

Watch as each string goes lifeless as you take back all the energy that no longer serves what's on the outside of you.

You can feel free to sit here for moments after the meditation ends.

Allowing yourself to feel and notice the golden flow of energy coursing through your veins,

Your bones,

The tingliness on the top of your skin.

Remember that it's not that you'll never give out your heartstrings again but that this is how we transition to slowing down.

We allow the external parts to keep their energy and we take back ours.

We unplug.

Those things will always be waiting for you when you're ready.

I hope you take this pause with you and you feel more empowered,

More aware to make the decisions you need moving on from this meditation.

Namaste.
