Okay,
So we'll be diving into a chakra meditation today,
Working from the bottom up along all the seven chakras or seven main chakras and its general purpose is to either get the feeling and well-being of all of your chakras being balanced and also a learning tool to get familiar with the chakras.
So again we can find a seat either the legs crossed sitting on the shins on a chair or couch whatever position where you can have a nice long spine and can stay relatively still for a short period of time.
And when working with the chakras it's always good to balance out the breath and the right and left hemispheres of the brain as well as the nadis,
Ida and pingala.
So we're gonna begin with a few rounds of alternate nostril breathing.
So with a long spine,
Relaxed shoulders,
With your right thumb we're gonna close the right nostril and inhale through the left and then with your right ring finger close the left nostril and exhale out of the right.
Keep the left closed,
Inhale through the right,
Close right with your thumb and exhale out of the left.
We'll do that a few more times.
Keep right closed,
Inhale left,
Close left with your ring finger,
Exhale right.
Keep left closed,
Inhale right and then close right,
Exhale left.
And then continue on your own,
Inhale left,
Close left,
Exhale right,
Inhale right,
Close right and exhale left.
And as you begin to find a rhythm,
Maybe even exhale or allow the exhale breath to be longer than the inhale.
So the pattern is inhale,
Switch,
Exhale with the exhales being slightly longer than the inhale.
Beautiful.
After your next full round,
The next time you breathe out of the left nostril,
You let that practice go for now and return to your natural cadence of breath.
And now we're going to draw our awareness down to our base chakra,
Our Muladhara chakra and bring your attention to the very base of the spine,
Your perineum region.
And with all the chakras,
It's a general area,
It's not a specific location as their energetic concepts.
So you just want to bring your attention down to the base of the body.
And within that space,
Picture a golden square right at the base of the body.
And to balance this chakra,
We'll visualize that golden square.
And silently internally,
Repeat the sound LUM.
The L is important.
LUM,
LUM,
LUM.
Continue to say that to yourself silently.
Awareness is at the base of the spine.
Visualizing that golden square and silent repeating the sound LUM.
And gently let that visualization the sound go for now.
And we'll bring our attention to our neck chakra,
Our Svadhisthana chakra,
Which is in the bowl of your pelvis or your bladder area.
And with this chakra,
And with this chakra,
You can picture a silver crescent moon facing upwards with the tips of the moon almost connecting to your hip points.
So the moon is sitting in the bowl of your pelvis.
And the sound to balance this chakra is VUM.
VUM,
VUM,
VUM.
So you can say this sound to yourself internally,
While picturing that silver moon.
If your mind ever begins to wander,
That's just what it does.
And just draw it back to the silver moon in your pelvis.
And the sound VUM.
VUM,
VUM,
VUM.
Good.
And now move your attention slightly higher to your Manipura chakra,
Which is just below the navel.
And here we can picture a red downward triangle,
Just around your navel,
A red downward triangle.
And the sound to balance this chakra is RUM.
With an R,
RUM,
RUM,
RUM.
Repeat this to yourself several times and visualize a red downward facing triangle just around the navel.
And now let's feel all three of these lower chakras together.
This golden square at the root,
The silver crescent moon in your pelvis,
And the red downward triangle.
Feeling and visualizing all three of these chakras together.
Balancing and harmonizing our system.
Good.
Now let that go.
And draw your awareness to your heart area.
The Anahata chakra.
Visualization here is a six pointed star like the Star of David.
So one triangle pointing down and the other triangle crossing that pointing up forming six points.
And the color is a light powder blue.
So we'll picture that in the heart area,
The center of the chest.
And the sound to balance this chakra is YUM with a Y,
YUM,
YUM,
YUM.
You can repeat this sound to yourself internally.
And picture a light blue six pointed star.
Feel your heart balance with your YUM mantra each and every time you repeat it.
And then we'll let that go.
And move up to the next chakra,
The Vishuddha chakra,
The throat chakra.
And here in the very center of your throat,
You can imagine a white circle.
Wherever it lands in the throat area,
A white circle.
And the sound to balance this chakra is HUM with an H,
HUM,
HUM,
HUM.
It's important to say the H,
HUM,
HUM,
HUM.
So white circle on the throat,
Silently repeating HUM.
And now with that area balanced,
It allows us to move into the third eye,
The Ajna chakra,
Or the spiritual center as it's sometimes called.
So we move up from the throat to the midbrain.
Think between the eyebrows and slightly back in the middle of the brain.
And you can imagine a blue circle there.
Or you can imagine simply a round ball of light in the middle of the brain.
The sound here is OM,
OM,
OM,
OM.
You can silently repeat the OM to yourself.
Allow the Ajna chakra to balance visualizing the ball of light right in the middle of the brain.
And finally,
From the Ajna chakra,
You're going to go straight up to the crown of the head,
And maybe even a little above it.
And the symbol for this is the thousand petal lotus.
So you can picture this lotus rising up from the crown of your head.
The color is white.
And the sound again is OM,
OM,
OM,
OM.
Picturing the white thousand petal lotus and silently repeating OM.
And now gently let that go.
And take a moment just to notice and feel from the root all the way up through the crown of the head.
A sense of balance,
A sense of ease,
A sense of centeredness.
And as you feel all up and down the length of the spine.
Maybe one more time.
Repeating the sound OM.
Moving slowly and deliberately.
Consciously bringing the hands to the very center of the chest in a prayer position.
And just begin to rub them,
Generating a little heat between the palms.
Maybe adding a little speed generating a little bit more heat between the palms.
And then place both palms just above the eyes.
And just take a moment,
Breathe in this heat.
And then we'll slide our palms down to our throat chakra,
Left on top of right.
Take another breath into where the palms lay on the body.
And slide both palms down to the heart center.
Once again,
Breathing to where your palms meet the physical body.
And slide the palms down to your navel.
Breathing one more time into where the palms meet the body.
Feeling the belly feel with fill with air.
And sliding the palms just below the navel.
One more round of breath here.
Now we ground ourselves back in our physical body.
You can slide the palms up and down the thighs a few times.
If it feels okay in the lower back,
You can slide the palms up and down the shins,
Maybe down to the tops of the feet is returning some awareness to the physical body.
And then sit.
Take one final moment.
As noticing and feeling any effects of this chakra balancing practice.
Notice how you feel now compared to when you started.
You can gently tuck the chin to the chest.
Flutter the eyes open whenever you feel ready to do so maybe blink a few times return back to the light of your room your space.
That completes our chakra balancing meditation for today.
