Trusting The Unfolding Now
by Al Jeffery
If you are aiming to carve out space to immerse in flow and create, without drifting off into thoughts on perfection, expectation, etc - this is a meditation for you. We often dance off into self-doubt, questioning or self-judgement as we work to create and express our best work into the world. Al will guide you through a journey to return to presence and trust that what arises is all it needs to be.

Hey there and welcome to the guided meditation toolkit or welcome back if you've experienced a meditation before.
So we're here simply just to guide you through some of the major challenges that we face as creatives,
As curious and open thinkers and as doers on our path to being of the greatest impact that we can possibly be.
This meditation specifically is going to help you quieten down the monkey mind as it's constantly questioned,
Constantly questioning what you're doing and tries to perfect all that is in front of you.
So we're just going to let the questioning mind just subside so that we can just focus on what actually needs to be done and not constantly question whether we're doing the right thing.
When you're ready and if you haven't done so already just make sure that you are in a comfortable posture whether it's sitting down or standing or lying.
Just making sure that your spine is elongated and your back is straight and that it's a posture that you can maintain for a few minutes and then once you're there just gently close down your eyes if you'd like to.
Alright so firstly we're just going to ground and arrive where we are just by taking three deep breaths very conscious deep breaths into the lower lobes of your lungs and on every exhale just feel yourself sink deeper into the posture.
Brilliant.
I was going to take a journey through the five senses just to become aware of where we are right now internally and externally so firstly just become aware of any part of your body that is kinesthetically in touch with the ground beneath you.
Just become aware of each of the parts of your body that are in contact and then just become aware of the sounds that you can hear in your immediate environment.
What sounds can you become aware of?
And then taking the attention to your nose and noticing what smells you can smell hopefully they're pleasant smells but either way just noticing what are the smells you can smell and then the tastes.
What are the tastes that you have left over from your previous meal in your mouth?
Leftovers.
It's great.
And then of course you may have your eyes shut and so what do you notice?
Very subtle movement of the worms that move.
And then in your eyeball do you see colors through your eyelids?
What is it that you see?
And just so that we have a clear intention for our time together and for this meditation what is it that you'd like to feel on the other side of this meditation?
What is it that you're seeking?
Why did you choose to do this meditation?
And so tell me what is it that you should be focusing on right now in your creative journey?
What is it that you should be focusing on right now?
And then when you observe your mind and the questioning taking place what is it saying?
What do you know in your heart in your body that you should be putting energy to right now?
What feels right?
When you place your hand on your navel what answer comes from there?
But then just notice what story is your mind coming up with that's questioning it?
Just notice the story.
What's it trying to tell you?
And now that you're aware of that story just really get curious about the story we're gonna dive into it we're gonna pull it apart and get to know it really intimately.
It's not a bad story it's just a story that may be trying to serve a purpose that just doesn't serve you at the moment.
So when you scan through the different aspects of yourself your full self there's your mind your body your heart your parents your friends your culture your partner all of these influences that maybe have a say at the table when it comes to making a decision.
Who or what part of your body do you feel is holding this story for you?
Is it something that your head is trying to hold for you in order to protect itself?
Something your parents are holding for you?
Culture and expectations?
Who or what part of yourself is holding this story for you?
Just really try and be as honest as you can so that you can really get curious about this story and where it comes from.
By getting to know it we can start to let go of the weight that it puts on us.
So now that you know where it comes from how real or how accurate do you feel the story is?
And of course acknowledging again that it's not a bad story it's just a story that maybe doesn't serve you.
And so can you thank that person or that aspect of yourself for caring about you and wanting the best for you?
But then also return to what you know intuitively deep down you need to do right now.
Can you thank the story and thank the part of yourself or the person for having this desire to help you through the story the best way they know possible?
But then just place it back and move on with what you deep down know you actually need to do.
Is that possible?
And so knowing that what is the very next thing that you need to do within your focus right now?
What is this next task?
And so being aware of your thoughts and the stories that push and pull is there any reason that you know as to why you can't move forward right now?
So in your mind's eye this picture of a river flowing in front of you the seamless movement and rhythm of the water maybe there's a leaf floating on the surface also.
A thought pops up a twig gets in the way and the leaf stops flowing.
This is all it is it's your natural state is the flowing river but sometimes there's these twigs these thoughts that pop up and stop this leaf this task this momentum from flowing along.
But we can always return to this natural state this natural fluidity and you are there now.
When you're ready to slowly bring movement back to your body by slowly maybe twinkling your fingers or your toes or your wrists or your ankles and then just slowly open your eyes.
So you can now notice the thoughts and the stories that come up along the way and maybe stunt your intuitive creative flow but just by noticing these thoughts and these stories and then maybe acknowledging where they come from and placing them back.
Just create space for you to move more freely with the rhythm.
And so now just enjoy going out there and getting back into what it is that you know you need to focus on and just notice the thoughts and stories that pop up.
And so I look forward to seeing you on another meditation in the toolkit just if you ever feel you need to rebalance realign or just remember something that you need to move forward.
My name is Al from Realize Flow and look forward to seeing you again.
Much love and enjoy the senses.

Great great meditation. It's a little more cognitive in it's approach than many meditations but for me that worked wonderfully.
