Hi my friends,
I'm Ali and today I'm sharing a little meditation practice to help bring some patience into your mind and into your life.
We'll start out in a comfortable position.
You can be seated or you can be laying down,
Whatever feels right for you today.
If you're seated,
You can go ahead and let your shoulders roll back and down and your hands rest comfortably in your lap.
Bringing your body into stillness for the next little while.
Observing how the body feels in this position today.
There's any areas that are tight or tense.
Often if we're carrying stress in the body,
It can make us feel a little bit more on edge and we can often carry that in our shoulders or even in our hips or anywhere else that you might carry it in your body.
So just take a sec to observe and see if you're carrying any of that tension today.
It's all good if you are,
You'll just notice that and start to shift your awareness to your breath.
You don't need to force the breath,
Just let it happen naturally.
Maybe the eyes close or they look down to the floor ahead of you.
Notice if your mind is already starting to dart ahead.
Maybe feelings or sensations of what's to come,
Getting stuck into the future.
Or perhaps if you're even just waiting for a moment to pass,
For something to end so you can move on to the next thing.
Because we're human,
Thoughts like this are natural.
There is so much going on around us,
Especially these days,
A lot of noise,
A lot of external clutter and a lot of pressure.
So taking this time out to just be with your breath,
Allowing time to kind of stand still for a moment can be a great way for you to connect back into a more patient sense of being.
So let's do just that.
Just simply in stillness,
Be here with your breath.
Keep observing when your mind starts to jump ahead.
Move forward.
Just draw it back to the present moment with your breath,
Reminding yourself that there's nowhere else you need to be right now and nothing else that needs your attention.
If you lead a really busy lifestyle,
If you have a really full plate,
Then often what happens is you don't feel like you have the time to slow down and be still and just breathe.
Feel like maybe it's a waste of time or it's taking you out of your other commitments.
But really you'll find if you take this time out of your day,
Even if it's just a few minutes,
That it actually gives you more time in a sense.
Helps you feel more present when you are going through the commitments and the checklists and the tasks.
And by slowing down and helping create some patience in your mind and body,
You'll bring less of a rushed energy into the rest of your day.
You'll feel more at peace in the moments that you don't have control over.
So again,
Nowhere else to be.
You can't do this wrong.
Just continue to keep your awareness inward and to come back to your breath.
From here,
You can reach the only spot on all your body down to your sets,
Just on this one circle.
Tuning back into the breath one more time feel the length of your inhales and the depth of your exhales so when you are feeling rushed or hectic or a little impatient know that you can come back to this short meditation to help you feel more grounded more present and more in the moment stay here as long as you like I want to thank you for having the courage to find peace within
