It is safe to offer yourself love, respect, and kindness right now...but it may not feel that way. Our subconscious mind-body stores memories from the past in which maybe being loving towards ourselves didn't feel safe and relays this to our mind and feelings in the present. This meditation employs a technique called Self Havening Touch which is shown to bypass the conscious mind and access our deep nervous system, in an easy and soothing way. This touch creates delta waves that can restore our bodies to feelings of safety and well-being, and produce inner changes. The practice here offers "Affirmations" - which are "what if" questions that can soften inner resistance and open us up to the love and truth that is waiting to be found. I am grateful to Karena of Hello Inner Light, whom you can find here on Insight Timer, for sharing her work and giving me permission to use these affirmations and share them onwards with you!
