
Right Here, Right Now, Everything's All Right

A meditation to help you feel safe and relaxed. There may be things in your life that don't feel all right - this meditation guides you into a felt sense of what truly is is all right, right now, right here and allows you to find calm, relaxed and present.
Transcript
This practice is called Right Here,
Right Now,
I am Alright and you're just going to take a short time to remind yourself that you're safe and also to grow a felt sense of safety inside your body.
So this is an opportunity maybe to let go of some unnecessary holding,
Some unnecessary stress or distress or uneasiness that you're carrying that you can feel in your body right now and to let your nervous system,
Your whole mind body sink,
Melt back into knowing that though you may not always have been safe in the past and you don't know what the future's going to bring,
What matters is Right Here,
Right Now and Right Here,
Right Now everything's okay.
There are plenty of things that are alright.
It may not be perfect and there may be some things that don't feel alright but there are things that are alright and that is where you want to land,
Deeper into a felt sense of what's alright and safe and you're okay.
As you begin perhaps to lengthen and deepen your breath and feel that lovely movement soothing the inside of your body,
Check in with yourself.
You might bring a hand to your belly and another hand to your heart just to make contact with yourself as if you're saying it's okay I'm here.
A compassionate and grounding gesture and just bring your attention to those things which are telling you you're completely safe.
The things you know that tell you things are alright and they could be simple things like you have a roof over your head or you're in a safe space right now.
It's got walls,
It's got doors,
It's got a roof.
That space is holding you safely.
Maybe you can think about the food you have in your cupboards and in your fridge,
That you have that security and other sources of security that are in your life that mean you're taken care of and looked after.
Dropping into that sense of support there are people in your life and maybe pets with whom you can be completely yourself and at ease and you know you're safe and you're loved and you're cared about.
And just beginning to feel more of a felt sense of inner security for yourself and feel yourself coming more into awareness of your body.
Make sure it's comfortable.
Maybe you could notice how your body is releasing its weight into that place where you are and your muscles and your bones are falling down toward the center of the earth without having to try because of the consistency of gravity keeping you safe and grounded.
So there may be a sense of landing inside your body and your body landing now.
And you may be on a chair or a bed or a mat or outside on the ground but wherever you are right now can you feel the constant solid presence of the earth underneath your flesh and bones and how you're releasing down into it.
Breathing in and letting your out breath allow you to settle and release.
And just beginning to allow you to settle and release.
The earth's got you.
And I invite you now to notice as your body relaxes down to the earth that the earth also comes up to meet you.
So just spending a moment to have that awareness of the earth meeting your sitting bones,
Perhaps meeting along your spine and your back and your shoulders and your head.
Even underneath whatever you're sitting or lying on the earth is meeting you and offering support.
As if if the earth had a voice it would be saying you're welcome here and you're safe here where you're landing where you're putting your roots down.
This is a safe space.
This is the wide solid space of the ancient and powerful earth who looks after all the things that rest on earth.
The grass and the flowers and the trees and the plants,
The rivers and mountains and streams,
The whole of the ocean.
Everything that rests upon her she meets with unconditional support and meeting you now in the same way.
Asking nothing in return.
The spot you're on right now doesn't ask anything of you,
Doesn't need anything of you.
And maybe you can now whisper words to yourself.
You are safe.
You are safe.
You are all right right now.
Your hand on your belly and your other hand on your heart and the simple movement of your beautiful breath right here right now on this spot.
And maybe now you could bring a little awareness to your physical body.
Your body is a strong and whole and safe container for energy.
You're safe inside your body.
If you want to feel that a little bit more you might take your hands and just tap or stroke around the form of your body so that you can feel you're inside that safe container.
Tap tap tapping.
Right here right now you're safe inside this solid body,
This container for energy,
This sanctuary,
This perfect space for you.
No matter what your body's experienced it's always here for you inviting you in and holding you and your energy and your experience.
You might run your hands along one arm and then the other as if you were stroking lotion into your body and feel how solid that arm is.
If it's available to you you could also hold your face,
Cup your face with your hands and feel your cheekbones and then with your fingers up to your brow.
And you could carry on like this touching the crown of your head,
Touching your chin,
Just feeling around the form of your body and feeling your skin and your bones and your muscles and that your body is a strong and safe container right here right now on your spot.
You can even flex your toes,
Stretch your fingers knowing your body is flexible and it's a good body that you have looking after you and everything's all right right here right now.
There are many things that matter that are all right.
Perhaps you could take your arms out now and just feel and explore the space around you or just sense that space in any way knowing that this space and the space underneath you is protective of you.
You're in a good energy space and right here right now you're not coming to any harm at all.
You are completely safe and then take some breaths into your body and start to bring awareness into the truth that you are breathing in and out of the safe container of your body in a safe space right now and that there are things in your life that are all right and okay and okay enough.
And while you've been tending to feelings of what isn't all right,
You may have missed out on feeling some of the real and true safety and wellness inside of you.
Just hasn't had a chance to be felt but you're feeling it now.
You're balancing that.
Can you say to yourself feeling and knowing I am all right right now.
You're growing those feelings,
Bringing awareness to your body and to your breath that you have enough air to breathe,
To your resting place on the earth and the protective space around you and all the people and things in your life that are all right and help you feel all right and safe and at ease.
So that when bigger things come deep in your bones you know you're okay and it's okay.
You can feel your heart beating and know that your blood is circulating healthily to your organs,
That your body is supported by the earth and space and this is what it feels like to feel basically all right.
And now that you're in this place and maybe feeling a little more settled in your body you might be taking some deeper breaths,
A couple of full cycles of deep breath with the words I am all right right now.
With these deep breaths taking them deep into your body right here right now in this moment I am safe,
I am okay,
Everything is all right.
There's any part of you still holding.
Can you allow those parts to soften a little into these feelings and these words into this space of safety,
This space where right now in this moment everything is all right.
Any muscles you can give the message to that nothing's happening right now,
Your muscles can let down their guard,
You're safe,
You're protected and in this moment right here right now even if there are challenges in your life you're coming from a safe foundation,
There's no immediate threat or danger and you're settling into a growing sense of safety that really exists here.
Your jaw,
Your belly,
Eyes,
Your throat,
Your shoulders and the whole of your back can let go and relax and saying to yourself as you breathe slowly in and out one more time,
Particularly savoring and lengthening your exhalation,
Say to yourself I'm safe and right here right now I'm all right.
Nothing for you to do or worry about here,
Just letting your body open up to accepting the warmth of your breath,
Moving through it,
That presence steady and supportive and that true knowledge that you are saying with these words and you can stay here and rest a while longer particularly if it feels good and welcome to your body,
That is a great act of service to your health and your well-being and therefore to the earth and others or you can gently in your own time come back and see what's changed and what feels different now that you've taken a moment to acknowledge that you're all right right now.

I found this track really effective to calm my anxious and worried mind. Alison's soothing voice guided me gently to realise that right here and right now I am okay, I'm safe. The suggestions for gentle body touch were very helpful, too.
