Hello precious soul and welcome to this self-forgiveness meditation.
You know sometimes we have to forgive ourselves many many times a day but that doesn't point to us having done something wrong.
It means usually that we've been being hard on ourselves and we need to take a pause to make amends and soften and clear our internal emotional space from these grudges we've been holding against ourselves.
That's what we're going to do in this practice.
It's really about being fair to ourselves and compassionate.
So you might like to be seated or lying down.
Just make sure you're comfortable and that your body is finding its comfort.
It deserves this.
You might gently close your eyes if that feels okay.
Take a deep breath in through your nose filling your lungs completely and exhale softly through your mouth.
Begin to feel your body releasing and settling into the surface beneath you.
Centering you.
As you continue to breathe naturally feel the weight of your body releasing itself naturally to the embrace of the earth.
You are held.
Always.
You can begin to become aware of how soft your own breath is and connect to that softness as a breath of compassion.
You're breathing into soft compassion and with each exhale waves of compassionate breath are allowing your body to release tension.
Now bring to mind a situation where you feel you need to forgive yourself.
It could be a perceived mistake,
A decision or an action that you regret.
Bring one hand to your heart and the other to your belly and see if you can greet these feelings without judgment.
Remember that everybody feels this way sometimes.
You're human.
And remember too that forgiveness is a gift you can give yourself.
Opening the door to self-love and acceptance.
In this moment you're choosing to forgive yourself knowing innately that you are worthy of compassion and understanding.
Especially from yourself.
Breathe with this awareness and bring your attention now to your hands resting on your being and send this awareness downward through your hands into your being.
So imagine that your hands are transmitting the energy of compassion,
Forgiveness and understanding.
These qualities are energy.
So as you breathe here forgiveness is flowing through your fingertips into your being,
Into every part of you.
Waves of compassionate breath are washing through and dissolving any feelings of shame or regret.
And now whisper or say silently to your being,
I forgive myself.
I send myself peace and compassion.
As you breathe in allow the gentle energy of self-forgiveness to wash over you cleansing your heart and mind of past regrets.
With each exhalation release the weight of self-judgment and embrace the liberating light of forgiveness.
Breathing in you're filling with forgiveness.
Breathing out you're releasing the burdens of self-judgment.
Recognizing that old stories no longer need to define you.
That you have the power to let go and move forward.
And in releasing the past and forgiving yourself you're creating new space for yourself,
For beginnings and positive growth.
As you continue to take long steady breaths into the light of forgiveness and with your exhalation feeling all those old burdens washing out of your body and down into the earth where they will be transformed.
Say to yourself I forgive and release the past and I am grateful for all which it has taught me.
I send myself peace and compassion.
You are sending peace and compassion back into the past versions of you as well as the you here now present.
With your waves of breath with your fingers I forgive myself.
I forgive myself.
With each breath you take you can feel yourself becoming lighter,
Freer.
I send myself peace and compassion.
Now feel the light of forgiveness pouring through your hands into your heart,
Into your belly and into every cell in your body.
Feel the chains of guilt and shame dissolving.
Leaving you free to move forward with lightness and grace.
For a couple more breaths you can linger in this moment feeling the energy of self-forgiveness,
Healing old wounds and restoring your inner harmony.
Take a moment to check in now with how you're feeling in your body as we come toward the end of this practice.
What feels different or new?
What feels good now?
Receive the blessing that you have given yourself.
And now as we reach the end of this practice take one final deep breath and as you exhale imagine any remaining tension or self-judgment completely releasing.
And then you can slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of self-forgiveness with you into your day.
Thank yourself for doing this powerful and vital practice and remember you can return to it whenever you need to and whenever you need a moment of self-compassion and forgiveness.
I thank you for blessing this space.
Thank you for practicing with me and until next time,
Bye for now.
