In this meditation, we’ll be creating a very special, safe and nurturing space for you to meet and embrace your inner child —that part of you that thrives on wonder, curiosity, and joy. That part of you that also longs to be heard, seen, and cherished. Your inner child is not a separate being, but a precious part of you that can give you access to healing, intuition, and happiness, if you engage with them in a safe, compassionate, and respectful way. By regularly taking even a short time to engage with your inner child, you are activating processes for deep healing and transformation over time. This is undoubtedly one of the most profound practices in our toolkit. Whenever you are in touch with any of the energies of your inner child in your present life, you are in touch with your inner child and have an opportunity to access some wisdom, healing, and fresh energy.

Welcome to this special space to receive,

To invite a connection with your inner child,

A vibrant and important part of your being.

They carry wisdom,

They carry creativity and they give you guidance as to what might need your attention.

For your healing,

For your growth,

For your inner harmony.

So you and your inner child can be allies today,

You can walk hand in hand through the day and that will help you feel your wholeness and guide you well.

This is also a way to bring healing to parts that are waiting for that and update them to present safety.

And remember this is a space you can return to at any moment throughout your day and can be a really potent and gentle way of integrating and regulating your inner system.

So let's begin.

You might just want to wriggle or shake your body a little to shake off anything that's feeling a little tense or awkward.

So that you're fully able to settle into this moment and feel present.

Or just a sense of shaking off what's come before this moment and letting your body be loose and comfortable and as settled as it can be.

And then as you connect to your breathing in some way,

Have the thought that you can breathe a smiling welcome into your body.

You can actually send a smile into your body.

Remembering that you are made of many parts and every part of you is worthy and welcome and you are innately whole.

Maybe soften and deepen your breath.

Remembering that every piece of you deserves your care and every piece is contributing to your unique experience.

And softly inhale and slowly exhale and sense yourself sinking into the loving embrace of the earth and that you're here now,

Safe and supported and you're here for yourself.

As you breathe in and as you breathe out,

Feeling how each breath brings you inwards and closer to you.

And with each breath inviting warmth and comfort into your being.

Reconnecting with the love that lives within you.

And you might whisper to yourself,

I am in here.

I am in here.

And now can you imagine or sense a small version of yourself?

A child who is tender and pure and expects goodness and kindness from life.

A young soul who is wise and creative and vibrant with energy.

Take a conscious breath into your heart and as you exhale,

Feel your heart reach out welcoming this younger you with warmth and safety.

And imagine yourself sending the following words to this precious vital part of you saying,

Hello little one,

I see you,

I'm glad you're here.

I want you to know that I cherish you and you are safe with me.

Take a nice warm full breath in and then sending those waves of love and kindness deep into your being with your exhalation.

You deserve all the love and joy in the world.

I will give you that love now.

Feel how you are in the space together as if you're sitting together in some peaceful spot and feel that little you in your presence,

Listening to you,

Receiving your words.

As you tell them,

Little one,

I welcome your energy,

All of it.

All your feelings matter.

I am devoted to you and I am listening.

Soften your jaw,

Soften your face,

Relax your shoulders.

You might sense their small body softening as your words are heard and taken in.

And share with them,

I love hearing from you.

I love learning from you so that I can be wise and kind in the way I treat myself today.

You are a source of joy and creativity.

Breathing in and out through your heart.

And I will embrace your playful energy today.

You are an intuitive visionary.

And I will listen to your wisdom today.

You are an abundant source of endless light.

And I will feel your illumination today.

Breathing in and out through your heart.

Feeling and sensing little you in your presence,

Listening,

Receiving,

Filling up from your words.

I am grateful for the lessons you have taught me about love,

Joy and wonder.

And I will honour these today.

Keep teaching me,

Little one.

Please keep showing me the way.

As you breathe in and breathe out,

Feel your belly expanding and contracting.

I acknowledge your strength in overcoming challenges and I will honour that in my actions today.

I promise to take care of you,

To nurture and protect you with my love.

Let's stay close to each other all day long.

Just as you have gifts for your inner child,

So does your inner child have gifts for you.

You can inspire each other,

Support,

Encourage and guide each other at an energetic level in your subtle body.

This way your being comes into harmony.

As you breathe here now,

Feel the connection between you as a quiet knowing that fills the space between your heart and theirs.

And then to finish,

You might take a long loving breath in,

Filling up your heart space.

And then as you exhale,

Wrap your inner child in your love.

You might even cross your arms over your body,

Holding onto your shoulders and really squeeze,

Reassuring your inner child that they have the warmth of your affection.

Feeling that radiating through you.

Reassuring your inner child that they are safe,

Cherished and always a part of you that matters.

And then maybe some private words you'd like to say to your inner child now before we come back.

And then when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Knowing that you will be carrying this loving,

Harmonious connection with you into your day in ways that will guide and enrich you.

I send love to you and I send love to little you and I hope you'll join me to enter this sacred,

Connecting,

Healing space again.

Thank you, Alison. I literally just came to this after typing to a friend about what my "little me" still seems to need, and how it all relates to current struggles. I had an awful evening and know that even though little me deserves all the love and understanding, especially from certain people in hey life, I am the one who needs to give it to her now. I cannot expect to get it from someone who does not have the capacity. During the session, it was the first time I really thought about how much the adult me would have loved the younger me (so cute! so creative!), and made me more aware of the younger me's needs. I was able to see how awesome my little self was and it was quite wonderful to sit with her. I shall look at a picture of little me tomorrow. I don't know if you've come across this, but I recently saw that people are using AI to merge two photos to make a short video clip in which the adult hugs/ embraces in some way their younger self. I saw several examples online and (despite the creepiness of AI), the concept of the embrace was so beautiful. Thank you for creating this. Both my current self and my little me are grateful. Now, I wish I had some Play-Doh.......💛🫂
