Welcome to this guided morning meditation which is designed to give you a nice boost of energy in the morning or any other time of day where you feel like you need a pick me up.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position for this one.
So you can be sat cross legged or just place one foot a little further in front of the other in an easy pose.
And begin to lift up through the crown of your head so you can imagine like you're a tree growing upwards ever so gently.
Then drop your shoulders down away from your ears.
Place your hands on your knees,
Palms facing up.
Check that your jaw is relaxed and parallel to the ground.
And take a really deep breath in.
And then exhale completely.
And on your next inhale,
Sweep your arms up above your head like you've just woken up in the morning,
Maybe you have.
And just take a nice stretch,
Perhaps wiggle a little side to side waking up the body.
Then sweep your hands down and place them in front of you so your arms are outstretched parallel to the ground.
Open your fingers as wide as you can and then close them,
Make tiny little fists.
Open,
Closed,
Open,
Closed,
Open,
Closed,
Open,
Closed,
Open,
Closed until you're almost flicking your fingers.
Keep going for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Really nice.
Release your hands back down onto your knees,
Palms up again.
So I'm going to share a really powerful type of breath that's amazing for helping to bring some energy into the body.
You're going to breathe in through your mouth and out through your mouth.
But the thing is,
There's going to be no pause between the in-breath and the out-breath.
You want to make sure that you draw the breath all the way down into your belly.
So you can even place one hand onto your belly if that's going to help you.
When you breathe in,
You want to draw as much air as you can into your body.
And when you breathe out,
Let it be a real release.
Let everything go.
And just a little extra tip,
When you breathe in,
You can make an O shape with your mouth like you're about to suck through a straw and draw the breath in that way.
That's going to help more air to come into your body.
Okay,
So all you have to do is follow the sound of my breath and we'll do 10 of these.
Okay?
It doesn't sound like an event.
Good,
Take a deep breath in.
Hold your breath.
Relax and rest in this breathless state.
And ever so slowly,
With control,
Breathe out through your mouth.
Come back to your natural breathing.
Close your eyes.
And take a moment to absorb all the energy from that breath work.
Notice any sensations in your body.
And tune in to that still place within.
Love.
Really nice,
And bring a little movement back to your body,
Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes,
Twitch your nose.
And a little assignment for you.
What one thing could you do today to increase your energy even more?
Maybe it's having a juice or a smoothie after this,
Maybe a walk outside or a little more movement.
Choose one thing now that you commit to doing that's going to energise and nourish your body and mind.
Good,
And you can share your extra commitment below in the comments to give some inspiration to others and to hold yourself accountable to going and doing that thing.
Thank you so much for listening and meditating and breathing with me today.
I hope you have an amazing day.
