Hi and welcome to this guided breathwork journey.
I'm really excited to be sharing this today because it's something a little different from my normal guided meditations.
It's basically a little introduction to breathwork and we're going to be doing it for just five or so minutes.
Normally you lay down,
You do it for an hour,
So you really go on this deep journey.
But for this kind of intro I think five minutes is going to help to get you used to the type of breathing that we're doing but also get you into a nice relaxed state without going too deep if it's your first journey.
So a little bit about connected breathing before we start.
It's a type of breathwork where you inhale and exhale but miss out that pause.
So in your normal day-to-day breathing you have a little pause that's in between the inhales and exhales.
So if you just want to take a breath now and just observe you'll notice there's just a tiny break in between.
Good so what we do in breathwork is we remove this pause so it's a continuous cycle of breath.
There's an inhale and it goes straight to the exhale.
Inhale,
Exhale.
It's this continuous circular movement which helps to create this state.
It's kind of like shining a light inside of you somehow and it has to be experienced to be understood.
There's no words for this type of journey.
So when you do this for a longer period of time what it does is release dimethyltryptamine in the brain or DMT and it's this substance which helps you to access alternate states.
It can even bring you visions.
You can travel to the future,
To the past.
You can have almost like a movie screen playing from an event that happened 10 years ago and perhaps you've buried in your subconscious and what it does is it works through these events,
These emotions,
These repressed feelings to release them and create these incredible states of bliss and oneness and it's such a beautiful practice and I'm so happy that I've discovered it.
I'm actually training to do it and I've discovered it.
I'm actually training to be a breathwork teacher and I can't wait to share that with you so let's begin and we do this by lying down.
So before you lie down make sure that you're not going to be disturbed.
It's very important that you have a space where you feel safe and you are away from noise and anyone barging in on you,
Turn off your phone,
Create your little sanctuary and lie down.
So lie down on your back and in Savasana or corpse pose so feet are slightly apart and your hands and your palms are facing upwards.
Try and make sure that your spine is straight and just adjust yourself so you get super comfy and before we begin let's just relax the body,
Relaxing your toes,
Feet,
Ankles,
Shins and knees as you feel your thighs relax,
Relaxing your pelvis,
Stomach,
Chest and shoulders melt and relax.
Feel a wave of relaxation roll down your arms,
Relaxing your fingers,
Spine and back relax.
Relax your jaw,
Teeth,
Lips and tongue.
Allow your face to soften,
Relax your eyes and eyebrows,
Forehead and scalp.
So your whole body is sinking deeper and deeper into this beautiful state of relaxation.
And if you haven't already gently close your eyes and visualize a beautiful golden shimmering ball of light hovering just above the crown of your head.
And with every breath you take this light grows brighter,
More vibrant.
As it begins to grow bigger you see this ball of light begin to encompass your whole body.
So you're kind of surrounded by an egg of light,
This beautiful bubble that's protecting you during this journey.
And then we call in our guides,
It can be a spirit guide,
Angels,
Helper,
Spirit animal.
If you don't resonate with this then you can just set the intention to be guided and to be shown what you need to see,
Feel what you need to feel during this short but sweet journey.
Beautiful,
So we're going to begin with the connected breaths.
So you inhale through the mouth and then exhale through the mouth immediately after no pause in between.
Keeping it quite slow there's no need to rush this process,
The main part is your inhaling and exhaling immediately after the breath.
So you're going to inhale through the mouth and then exhale through this process.
The main part is your inhaling and exhaling immediately after one after the other through the mouth.
So as you inhale it's a deep,
Ripe inhale and as you exhale it's a surrender and letting go.
Just do a few practice rounds of those with me,
Deep inhale,
Inhale and exhale.
Good,
Very deep inhale and exhale.
Let it all go.
So we're ready to begin the journey.
I'll guide you through the first few but keep going.
I will be speaking throughout and just allow your breath to guide you to go deeper.
Let's begin.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale,
Exhale,
Inhale,
Exhale.
Inhale,
Beautiful,
Continue at your own pace,
Connected,
Circular,
Beautiful breath.
And see this breath like a light as you inhale it washes through your entire body and as you exhale you release anything you want to get rid of.
Staying with the breath allowing it to fill you up with love and light.
Then exhaling when you release,
Letting go,
Allowing it to be taken away to be recycled,
Getting rid of those things that don't serve you.
And you may begin to feel your heart open and expand,
Perhaps arching the back a little to get more space in the heart area.
It's nice to bring a smile to your face if possible when breathing.
Enjoying your breath,
Life is just a series of inhales and exhales.
Inhaling that sweet prana,
Feeling it vibrate throughout your body from the tips of the toes to the crown of your head.
And as you exhale,
Let go of the breath,
Let go of the breath,
Let go of the breath.
Feeling it vibrate throughout your body from the tips of the toes to the crown of your head.
Feeling it expand your consciousness and awareness,
Connecting to that love,
Trusting there's no way to do this wrong,
You're doing a great job,
Continue with the breath.
And if you feel you want to be a little deeper,
More intense,
Then perhaps start to speed up the breath,
Taking it deeper into the body,
Exhaling more fully.
Keep going.
Allow the breath to work its magic in your body.
The breath brings with it love and awareness and light.
The breath is medicine.
Perhaps you feel tingling in your hands,
This is perfectly normal.
This is often to do with things that we need to release,
But we're kind of holding on to,
So if you feel this,
Imagine your breath coming in and out through the palms of your hand,
Allowing it to let go,
Allowing that energy to soften,
To release.
Keep breathing circular,
Connected breaths.
Jaw is relaxed,
Mouth is open wide.
And take your attention to your heart,
Your heart chakra.
Place your awareness there,
Feeling the love as you continue to breathe.
And then your mind's eyes see a beautiful pink flower shimmering with green and gold and vibrant regenta light,
And this flower begins to open,
To blossom,
To bloom.
And inside is the most beautiful,
Soft,
Feminine energy.
You feel it expand like waves rolling over your body throughout your chest,
Down to your toes,
Up to the crown of your head.
And as you continue with this circular breathing,
This loving heart energy expands outside of your body,
Creating a circle of love around you.
And just allow yourself the pleasure of soaking in this beautiful energy.
Feel it vibrate to yourself every inch of your body.
Dive into that bliss state.
Marinate in the love and the light.
And then come back to your mind.
Coming up to our last few breaths here,
Deep inhales and exhales.
And then gently release the breath,
Coming back to your normal,
Steady breathing signature.
That's it,
Normal breathing here.
Keeping your mind still.
Enjoying the sensations.
Listening to the silence.
And gently beginning to bring your awareness back to the here and now.
Perhaps wiggling your fingers and toes.
Listening to the sounds.
Feeling the way the clothes touch your skin.
And where your body touches your mat or the floor.
And now's a nice time just to give thanks.
Perhaps something came up for you.
Perhaps you're enjoying a lovely state of relaxation.
There's always so much to be thankful for.
And now's a good time just to show your gratitude.
Whenever you're ready,
Blink the eyes open.
And come back to the room.
Perhaps you want to roll your head side to side.
Make sure you get up quite slowly with this one.
If you're feeling a little ungrounded then you can go outside,
Bare feet,
Walk on the earth.
Or just walk through the ground.
A glass of water also helps.
It's nice to journal if something came up for you in this experience.
Or to let me know below.
I would love to hear your comments.
Like I said,
This is my first very short guided journey.
And I would love to hear your feedback if this helped you.
Thanks so much for listening.
And I hope you have the most wonderful day.
Bye.
