This short meditation is here to help if you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed right now.
Anxious or afraid by all that's happening in the world.
You just need a moment of calm just to stop and breathe.
So let's walk together through the woodland.
Let's connect with nature just for a moment.
Allow ourselves to stop and breathe.
To reconnect and allow ourselves to ground ourselves once more.
In the rush and fast pace of life.
We can get swept along.
Especially right now with all the fearful news.
Our minds become whirled up.
You find it difficult to.
.
.
Find that still point.
So I'd like you to find somewhere if you can lie down,
That's great,
Or you can just sit quietly.
Some headphones in or just listen to this directly off of your phone or computer.
Close your eyes.
Just picture for me now,
Wherever your mind wants to take you.
To a lovely woodland.
And as you walk into the tree canopy.
Look up we can see the sky above you It's a beautiful day,
Blue sky.
You can hear the birds.
You can smell the trees.
And as you walk along,
You notice the colors,
Textures all around you.
Your hands out just to feel the sensation of the trees as you brush past them.
As you continue to work,
You find yourself in a clearing within the woodland.
Somewhere where there's a beautiful area of grass you can sit down.
You allow yourself just to rest here a while.
Lay back if you wish Feel the sun on your face,
Look at the sky.
There's nothing to do here.
All there is,
Is quiet and still.
Bring your attention to the breath.
Breathing deeply in through the nose.
And if you can,
Bringing that breath right down to your tummy.
And then blowing it away through the mouth.
So,
Breathing deeply in.
Not even sighing as you do the exhalation if it helps.
Just to let go.
Nature can be very healing.
Just being amongst it for a few minutes each day.
Is so beneficial to your health,
But if you can't get outside or be near woodland.
.
.
And this recording is really helpful.
Notice the sensations all around you.
Imagine how that sunshine would feel on your face right now.
Just notice the birdsong for a moment.
Just be present for a moment.
In your space.
When we give ourselves time.
To stop and just spend a little bit of time on self-care.
Brings down our stress levels.
Helps us just to re-engage with that wisdom within,
Where peace of mind can be found.
You just feel better.
Just noticing now.
That without any effort on your part you can just slow down.
Maybe you'd like to imagine that you can take off your shoes.
And push your feet through the glass.
Can put your hands out beside you and run your palms across the texture of the ground.
When we give ourselves permission to slow down our mind quietens.
When we're stressed,
Anxious and fearful,
Everything speeds up,
Our thoughts speed up.
We find ourselves becoming overwhelmed with worry.
So just here in this moment.
Become mindful of the space that you're in.
Present in this moment.
What do the trees look like?
Notice the colours.
Notice the difference between light and shade.
Perhaps she'd like to wander a bit more through this woodland.
You're curious as to what you might see.
So you wander a little further.
You come across a beautiful stream.
Notice the water as it moves freely.
Feel lighter,
Your mind feels clearer.
And I just want you to just take a moment just to be still in this place.
Just enjoying the sights and sounds around you.
There's nothing for you to do,
There's no expectations on you,
No tasks to tick off.
Just quiet and peace.
Breathing in deeply once more.
Filling your lungs with the fresh air.
And then blowing that breath away.
Just in this moment everything has quietened and has become more peaceful.
Allowing you to re-centre,
Ground yourself.
And you can use this recording whenever you feel you need to.
After the end of a busy day or Things are stressful at home.
You just need a moment to have some time to yourself.
Self-care matters.
With practice we become calmer.
More centered and more able to cope.
More resilient.
Give yourself that time.
