This offering is intended to support those who are in the process of weaning their baby or young child. The emotional dips in this process can be quite intense as hormones rebalance. This change can temporarily cause mood changes and physical symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and difficulty sleeping. Although these symptoms typically resolve in due course, it's important to support yourself during this transition and to understand that it is indeed a process. This track will take you on a guided imagery journey to aid you in letting go of the nursing relationship and to acknowledge the deep transformation you are undertaking.

Hi Mama,

I made this track because I know how intense the emotional and hormonal shifts of weaning can be,

And how this all can feel potentially quite isolating.

I want you to know that you aren't alone in experiencing this emotional upheaval,

And even if you are ready on a mental level to let go of the nursing relationship with your child,

Your body may be on its own timeline of this letting go process.

Know that it's not uncommon to experience periodic waves of sadness and anxiety as your hormones return to their pre-pregnancy and pre-nursing levels.

I invite you to use this time to be with this transition in an intentional way.

So,

I'd like you for a moment to close your eyes and recall your breastfeeding journey with your child.

See what comes up in your mind's eye.

Perhaps you remember their eyes locked on yours as they took comfort in the closeness of your body.

Perhaps you can recall them falling asleep peacefully as they nestled into you,

Their eyes gently fluttering shut.

Maybe you remember the closeness and unity that you experienced with them as you nursed your child.

You may also recall challenges or awkward moments,

Or perhaps even moments of frustration or isolation that you experienced during this journey.

That's all okay.

Take it all in,

The beautiful and the challenging aspects.

I'd like you to take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Imagine that you are slowly breathing out into a gold-colored balloon,

Filling it with the experiences from your mind's eye.

With every memory you exhale,

The balloon expands bigger and bigger until it is completely filled with air.

You take the balloon,

Tie a knot in it,

And then hug it tightly to your body,

Feeling gratitude for the ways that this experience has shaped you,

For the bond that it has nurtured with your little one,

And for the health and deep nourishment that you have provided.

When you are ready,

You hold the balloon out with your fingertips,

And a gentle breeze catches it,

Pulling it up into the sky.

Higher and higher it climbs,

Up into the clouds,

Gradually getting smaller until it's just a small dot on the horizon.

You blink,

And when you open your eyes,

You find that you can no longer see the dot at all.

Taking another deep breath in,

You gather all your energy into your physical body,

Breathing slowly in and out as you find your center.

Continuing in this way,

You take five slow and deep breaths in and out.

You feel the energy accumulated in your body in the solar plexus area,

And you hold it there for a moment,

Before you begin to allow it to slowly trickle down from your belly and into your thighs,

Your knees,

Your calves,

Your ankles,

Your feet,

And your toes.

You feel your bare feet on the earth,

And in your mind's eye,

You feel roots descending from your feet deep into the core of the earth.

As you breathe out,

You feel your energy descend deep into these roots,

Into the depths,

And as you breathe in,

The roots drink energy and groundedness up from Gaia and back into your body,

Continuing breathing cyclically in this way.

Feel how you are held and lovingly supported as your body and your psyche move through the emotional tides of this transition.

Stay here for as long as you like to,

And when you are ready to come back,

Gently bow your head towards your chest,

And then open your eyes.
