Good morning,
Hope you slept well.
Thank you for doing this meditation.
How we start our day is one of the most important things that we can do.
It sets the tone for the rest of the day and it helps us navigate our day in a way that can either be positive or not.
So with this meditation I'm hoping that you will start your day on the right foot with confidence and motivation and this meditation is best practiced before you look at your phone and scroll through social media.
It's best to start this meditation as a blank canvas.
So find yourself seated comfortably,
Your back upright and together let's take a nice deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale,
Gently close your eyes.
Begin by noticing how your body feels this morning,
Is there any tension anywhere in your muscles,
Any stiffness?
Just observe your body and the energy your body is currently carrying.
Now take notes of your breath.
Notice the rhythm of your breath,
The pace at which you are naturally breathing and take note of how the breath feels when you breathe in and out.
And if any thoughts come up,
I want you to know that that is perfectly normal especially for first thing in the morning,
Just notice the thoughts,
Acknowledge them,
It's a big part of your being and label the thoughts and then gently go back to your breath.
Notice your belly expanding and deflating with each inhale and exhale.
Can you feel the air flowing in and out through your nostrils?
Is there any energy that may be flowing through your body right now?
Energy of anticipation or of excitement,
Whatever it is,
It is perfectly fine.
Just acknowledge it and I ask you a question now,
How do you want your day to look like?
What kind of day do you want to have?
Take a few moments to establish the kind of day you would like to have.
A relaxing day,
A productive day,
An exciting day.
And now bring to mind how you would feel throughout the day as you would like it to be.
How do you feel?
How do you feel when you're productive?
And together let's take another deep breath in through the nose as deep as you can.
Slowly exhale and now I'd like you to think of something about today for which you are grateful.
What are you grateful for about today?
What are you looking forward to?
Is there anyone you are looking forward to speaking to or meeting?
What emotions surface when you bring this person to mind?
And now take a moment to imagine yourself when you're at your best,
When everything goes right,
When everything flows smoothly,
When you are at your most confident.
I want you to bring to mind those emotions,
How you feel when everything goes your way.
When the people you speak to are nice to you,
When the things you do all work out,
How do you feel?
Explore those feelings.
And together let's take another deep breath in and slowly exhale and relax a little further as you breathe out.
We cannot predict what kind of day you're going to have but we can promise ourselves that we will do our best to handle whatever comes our way and bring our best to the table no matter what.
And you have it in you so know that today is yours and let's now think of a quality of yours that you are grateful for,
Just a quality of yours you're proud of that really makes you stand out from everyone else.
What is it about you?
What is your little hidden superpower?
And I want you to say thank you for this quality.
Welcome it with gratitude.
And together let's say the following affirmation,
Today is going to be a great day.
Let's take another deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale,
Relax a little further,
Notice how you feel,
You feel more motivated,
More energized,
More excited about what your day has to bring.
