Hey,
Thank you so much for taking the time from your day to listen to this.
I understand that it can be tough to even want to seek help or,
You know,
Feel hopeful.
So I really appreciate the initiative that you're taking right now.
And I want you to know that these times can feel tough.
You can feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
You may feel like things will never get better.
And I can relate more than you even know because I've been there so many times myself.
I've experienced it on so many different levels.
So it's very easy for me to empathize with you.
I want you to,
As you're experiencing these terrible feelings of depression,
I want to remind you of a fundamental and such an important principle of mindfulness meditation.
And that is the idea of impermanence.
Nothing is permanent.
Nothing lasts forever,
Including those feelings of depression that you're experiencing right now.
So that's the first thing you need to remember.
However you're feeling now will eventually go away.
You'll eventually experience better days.
You will eventually feel hopeful.
I can't tell you specifically when that will be,
But I want you to at least seek comfort in the fact that you will eventually feel better.
And that's the first principle that I want you to remember.
And secondly,
Because I want to keep this short,
I want you to get the most out of this in the shortest amount of time.
Remember that if you can push through this devastating,
This tough time,
Then you will walk out of this a stronger and wiser person.
And you will.
And I'm sure there are a million different ways to handle this.
But if you can really just experience those emotions,
And if you can push yourself through this in a dignified manner,
Then you will learn more about yourself.
You will become stronger and more adept at dealing with these situations.
And again,
I know it's tough.
You don't have to do anything.
You just have to be hopeful.
You have to comfort yourself in the knowledge that things will get better.
So that was the second principle.
The third one is I'm going to ask from you after this recording,
I'm going to ask from you to do something for yourself.
Do something for yourself.
Be kind to yourself.
Because at times of depression,
We feel like we are alone.
There is nothing there for us.
We feel like we do not have the attributes that we may want.
We feel we may be hard on ourselves.
So I really encourage you to take this time to spin this around a little bit and remind yourself of your value.
Remind yourself of what is it about you that makes you special.
So I'm going to encourage you to try this little exercise.
I want you to think of something about your life that you're grateful for.
And I can understand that at times like this it may feel like a far-fetched idea,
But just think of the most simple thing you're grateful for.
And then when you're done with that,
I want you to think of something about yourself as an individual for which you are grateful.
When you're done with that,
I want you to think of something about you,
Qualities of yours,
That you may express when you're at your best.
I want you to really close your eyes and imagine yourself at your best.
Imagine how you feel,
What sort of physical characteristics do you exude when you are at your best,
When you're happy.
And I want you to relive those feelings.
I want you to re-invite,
Re-ignite those emotions and those feelings into your being.
For a very,
Even though it's short,
It's not going to take long,
But just very quickly give yourself this little spark,
Okay?
And then again,
Do something kind for yourself.
And that can be a variety of,
You can go to a cat cafe and just be around these beautiful little furballs.
You can buy yourself the most delicious chocolate that you can find.
You can hang out with a friend that makes you feel great.
You know what?
Set up the couch,
Turn on the TV and watch something,
Indulge yourself with something on TV or a film,
But do something,
Express some kindness to yourself.
And I'm not saying that this will fix everything straight away.
What it will do is it will give you this little shift in momentum and it also give you a shift in an angle.
So you'll be heading in a different direction and eventually you'll feel a little better.
I want you to keep doing these things,
Keeping nice to yourself,
Keep talking positively to yourself,
Keep reminding yourself of that for which you are grateful.
When you experience a depression,
Don't mask it with anything.
Just feel the feelings,
Acknowledge that they are there,
Understand that they are not going to be there for long.
Understand that if you can overcome this,
You will grow stronger and wiser and you will be of benefit to other people around you eventually,
If you can deal with this the right way.
And then be kind to yourself,
Be good to yourself.
Self-love is the foremost fundamental expression of love.
And until you fully love yourself,
You can't truly express that outwardly.
So I hope this gives you a little bit of motivation,
Perspective,
Sending you lots of love and let me know what you think.
If you feel a little bit better or if you have any questions,
You can let me know in the comments.
I really appreciate,
Again,
Give yourself a huge pat on the back for just taking a few minutes to listen to this and to gift yourself this moment.
This shows to me that you're actually doing the right thing and your head's in the right place.
So I honestly applaud you.
I'm sending you lots of good energy,
Lots of love and the best moving forward.
Thank you.
Much love.
