Hey,

Hey,

If you're listening to this,

Chances are you're behind the wheel.

Now you could be stuck in traffic,

You could be on your way to work,

Or,

You know,

Just running errands one of those days.

Wherever you are,

This is your chance to slow things down a little without stopping the car,

Of course.

So I would usually suggest to not drive while meditating,

But for this one,

Please keep your eyes open.

You don't need to cross your legs.

Just keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

And this can just be a nice little check-in for your mind.

There's no pressure to be perfect at this.

There's no pressure to do it perfectly.

Just follow along and see what shifts,

Pun intended.

And don't worry,

I'm not gonna ask you to visualize a mountain while changing lanes or anything like that.

So it's gonna be very driver friendly.

And if at any point you need to fully focus on the road or on traffic,

That's okay.

Just let my voice fade into the background and then you can return to it when you can.

So begin by noticing how your hands feel on the wheel.

Notice the sensations of the wheel as you grip it with your hands.

See if you can just move your hands very gently.

You're not moving the wheel.

You're just moving your hands gently against the wheel.

And notice the texture of the wheel.

It's not too tight,

Not too loose.

Just nice sensations of the wheel.

Take note of your back or the backrest on the seat.

How does it feel?

How does the actual seat feel?

Is it comfy?

Is it soft?

Is the backrest tilted upwards or is it a little bit more down?

Notice your shoulders.

Take a moment to relax your shoulders.

They can drop a little.

Just relax your shoulders.

Relax your jaw.

Relax your face.

And if there are any other muscles in your body that may feel tense,

You can just relax them as well.

Just relax your whole body as you drive.

Be aware of how your body is.

Is there any smell in your car?

Could be a scent that is coming from a deodorizer or from something you may have added.

Or it could just be a natural scent from your car.

Your windows could even be a little open.

And then you have the fresh air coming in.

And you might feel that.

Just be aware of the sensations and the scent.

What's the temperature like in there?

Can you feel the temperature?

Is there a breeze coming from the air conditioner or from the window?

Or is it nice,

Warm,

And comfy?

Now take note of your breath.

Just check in on your breath.

You don't have to force your breath.

You don't have to change anything about your breath.

Just let your breath run naturally as it is.

And notice how you breathe when you drive.

Notice the depth of your breath.

Notice the sensations of the breath.

Now see if you can breathe in through your nose nice and slowly.

And out through your mouth nice and slowly.

Deep breaths in through your nose.

And deep breaths out through your mouth.

Let's take note now of the sounds in the car.

Can you hear the car driving?

The traffic in the background.

The engine.

What sounds are coming from your car right now as you are driving?

Besides my voice,

Of course.

Can you hear any birds?

If you're driving on a highway or a freeway,

You may just hear trucks and cars.

What do you see around you?

What do you see?

Do you see trees?

Do you see a sky?

What does the sky look like today?

Is it blue?

Are there many clouds?

Are there any clouds?

Is the sky gray?

Is it a rainy day?

Just notice that.

What colors can you spot as you drive?

See if you can notice anything that you may think is beautiful.

Obviously,

Keep your eyes open.

You may see cars on the road,

But as you're driving.

Are there any trees?

Any buildings?

Houses?

Any animals?

Birds?

And let's take another deep breath in through the nose as deep as you can.

And slowly exhale.

Notice how your feet feel on the ground.

Notice how they are positioned.

Have any of your muscles tensed up unconsciously without you noticing?

Just be aware of that as well.

Now let's take a moment to think of something that you're grateful for about this drive.

It could just be a great opportunity for you to leave the house and go on a bit of a drive.

You could be going somewhere that you're excited to visit.

You could even be grateful for the car that you are driving.

How good is it to just have a car to drive?

It's something that we take for granted.

And it's very important for us to be grateful for the car that we drive.

Just take a moment maybe,

Just be grateful for the car that you have.

For the many places it has taken you to,

The many miles you have driven with it.

What an amazing thing to have in your life.

Practically take you anywhere in such a short length of time,

In such a comfortable way.

You can listen to music while you drive.

What a time to be alive.

And now,

Is there anything that you feel grateful about yourself?

Anything grateful about your body?

Maybe you're grateful for having the ability to drive,

Having your hands on the wheel,

Guiding you along.

Healthy eyes to keep you aware of your surroundings.

The focus to keep you going.

You don't have to feel any certain emotion or blissed out or anything like that.

Just notice the little things,

The stuff we often miss.

You don't need to change anything.

Just keep driving with lots of awareness and care and you cannot lose from this point onwards.

You can only win.

So as the road rolls on,

As you're driving along,

May your mind stay steady and soft.

So here's an affirmation.

Let's repeat this affirmation together as we finish off.

I move forward with calm and clarity.

Say it one more time.

I move forward with calm and clarity.

You've got this,

My friend.

Have an amazing drive and an amazing day.

We'll see you in the next meditation.
