Welcome.

My name is Alexis,

And I'm so grateful that you're joining me for this practice of Leading with Intention.

Your authentic self has brought you here today.

Whether you're able to consciously acknowledge this or not,

It's through your authentic self that you've chosen,

With intention,

To join me for this practice.

Our authentic self lies at the core of the practice we're doing today,

And grounding into that self is where all conscious intention grows from.

To lead with intention calls on two components of mindfulness that are inextricably linked,

And with whom will guide us and ground us when we're able to slow down and tap into them.

These components are attention and intention,

And when we're able to harness these,

We can consciously align with our highest and most authentic self in life and work.

Where your attention goes,

Energy flows.

Through this practice,

I invite you to become aware of how it is you're showing up right now,

And where your attention is focused and thus transferring your energy to.

For many of us,

We can feel stuck and stagnant and always caught up in the doing.

This often comes as a result of not consciously managing where it is our attention is.

And as a result,

We spend energy on behaviours,

Thoughts and actions that do not serve our highest self.

As we become aware of our attention,

We can choose to consciously align this with our intention,

Who it is we want to be,

And why this version of ourselves gives us purpose.

When we lean into present moment attention and learn to cultivate this into our daily lives,

We can shift into being more present and living in a way that feels more meaningful and with purpose.

We're showing up as our authentic selves.

Imagine a seed falling from a tree.

You are this seed,

And although right now this seed is not a tree,

It has the full DNA expression to become so.

If we plant this seed into ground that isn't fertile,

And we don't care for the seed by watering it and supporting its growth,

It can never fulfil its full potential in becoming a beautiful tree underneath which others can sit in the shade and enjoy the connection to Earth.

However,

When we deeply understand the purpose of what this seed is to become,

We can take intentional action every day to care for it.

We'd plant it in rich,

Fertile soil,

And we'd water it every day.

We'd nurture it,

And we'd support its growth to flourish to its full potential.

Knowing this seed has a powerful gift that so many could benefit from,

We'd do everything we need to to make sure it grows.

You represent the sea,

Filled with intention and the full DNA expression to become the highest version of yourself.

By planting the seed into fertile ground,

Which is managing your attention,

You can control where your energy flows,

And thus align with your intentions to allow yourself to flourish and reach the full expression of your most authentic self.

By being here today and joining me for this practice,

You're giving yourself permission to feel rooted in your purpose and to nourish and nurture yourself through being intentional in your actions so you too can flourish and bring your gifts to the world.

Let us begin our meditation.

Take a moment to settle into where you are.

Allow yourself to get comfortable either sitting up or lying down.

Start to feel yourself rooted to the ground where your body is connecting with it.

Allow yourself to soften in.

Allow yourself to feel grounded here.

Together we're going to breathe in through our nose and out through our mouth.

In through our nose and out through our mouth.

Each deep belly breath rooting us deeper and deeper into the ground.

Allow yourself to begin releasing any expectations you had for yourself today.

Any expectations you had for this practice and just breathe and give yourself permission to be fully present right here and now with what is.

Tuning into our authentic selves takes us inward and allows us to open up to who it is we might become when we release our expectations of who it is we think we are.

Continue to breathe deeply and as you breathe deeply now allow my words to simply drift down and drift over you.

I'm going to begin by asking you some questions and I'd like you to refrain from trying to answer these with your intellect or with your mind and rather allow the questions to simply drift down and flow through you.

Travel all the way down to your heart.

You may notice answers drifting up from your subconscious and you may not.

There is no right answer here and no expectation.

Just allow for the questions to invite your authentic self to show up.

As my highest self who am I?

Who am I?

When I align with my highest self how do I feel?

How do I feel?

When I align with my highest self how do I show up?

How do I show up?

The ego mind will try and take over here.

Witness when your mind attempts to answer these questions.

Witness when your mind answers with doing answers and not being.

When we respond to our ego mind that is when we lose touch with our authentic self.

It's when we are no longer in alignment with our true intentions.

This is completely natural and when it happens simply allow your attention to witness your ego mind and gently bring yourself back to the breath.

Breathe deeply and just notice yourself breathing grounded in place.

I'm going to leave you with a mantra for a few moments now.

You need to allow it to flow through you opening yourself to allow your authentic self to connect in with your consciousness.

For the next few minutes I want you to continue breathing comfortably and repeat the mantra in your mind's eye.

I am awake.

I am awake.

This mantra helps us connect both to the present moment into our deep rooted purpose.

Continue to breathe comfortably and repeat the mantra in your mind's eye.

I am awake.

I am awake.

I am awake.

Repeat this mantra now and I'll mind the time.

I am awake.

I am awake.

It's time now to release our mantra.

I am awake.

Gently release the mantra to the universe and bring yourself back to your breath.

Breathing comfortably breathing deeply into your belly.

We will gently now bring our practice to a close by slowly beginning to bring movement back into our body.

Gently begin to flex your fingers and toes.

Today's practice has allowed space for our authentic self to step into the light.

Today whether you're working,

Relaxing,

Caregiving or whatever you choose to do,

Carry forward with you the vision of your authentic and highest self and check in with yourself through the day to recognise if you're acting with intention.

Ask yourself,

Is this in line with my highest self?

This question will always guide you back to your path of intention and allow you to choose how you show up.
