This is a chanting meditative practice to activate the energy of your throat chakra. It is beneficial for everyone, but especially for those who hold themselves back from speaking up due to fear of judgment or conflict. Practice this before having a difficult conversation, delivering a speech, or leading a meeting to loosen up your voice and increase the impact of your words.

Hello and welcome.

I am Ale Garnica and I am so happy you are here with me today.

In this practice we will be chanting together a Bija mantra.

Bija mantra is a one-syllable sound used in meditation or yoga.

The Sanskrit word Bija means seed.

The most known Bija mantra is Om or Aum which is used to activate the third eye chakra.

I have heard people saying that Bija mantras are for watering the seeds of your highest purpose which I think is a beautiful way to describe them.

In today's practice we will chant the Bija mantra Ham to activate and balance the energy of our throat chakra.

This is beneficial to anybody but if you are someone who would have a creative idea that could improve something but you keep it to yourself out of fear of rejection or criticism,

If you agree to take on tasks or projects that you don't have the bandwidth for because you're afraid to say no or if you avoid expressing your true feelings about issues in your relationships because you fear hurting the other people's feelings or you don't reach out for help or support from friends because you don't want to appear weak or needy,

This practice will help you remove the energy blocks that are stopping you from speaking up.

This is how it will work.

We will do three cycles of four chants each taking a deep breath within each chant.

For the first three chants we will repeat the mantra three times.

It will sound like this.

You take a deep breath We'll do this three times and then the last one we'll take a deep breath and we just say it once Hum So in total we'll be singing four times in three cycles.

Don't worry I'll guide you through it.

So I invite you to close your eyes and if you want you can bring your hands to your throat area.

This is to connect with the vibration you are generating in that chakra.

You don't have to.

You can if you prefer to leave your hands on your lap that works good too.

Observe your breath,

Your natural breath and notice if you can feel the energy of your throat chakra.

Maybe you notice a sensation in your hands if you're touching it or on your throat.

And if you don't notice any sensation it's okay too.

We're going to start chanting,

So take a deep breath,

Breathe in Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum This is the last one Hum Hum Hum Hum Now move your hands to your lap if you have them up on your throat.

And notice the sensations in your throat area and in your whole body.

Notice if your energy shifted and maybe there are certain emotions that arise.

Just welcome them.

Whatever happened was meant to happen,

Everything is okay.

There's no right or wrong.

Breathe normally and slowly when you're ready open your eyes and relax.

This practice can be very useful whenever you are about to have a difficult conversation with someone,

Where you are about to lead a meeting or maybe you are going to talk or speak in public.

Do this before any of these events and it will help you loosen up your throat and you'll see how the energy of your words will be more impactful.
