Hi,
My name is Asa.
Welcome to this Wisdom of the Rose guided meditation.
Please come to a comfortable seat.
Feel free to make any adjustments in your seat or do any gentle stretches that will help your body relax a little further into this position.
And when you're ready,
Start to slow any movement down and allow your body to come to stillness.
You may close your eyes or leave them open with a soft gaze on the floor a few feet in front of you.
And if you're seated,
Allow the crown of your head to lift upwards on your next inhale,
Lengthening through your spine.
And on the following exhale,
Allow your shoulders to relax down towards the earth.
And notice if you're holding any tension in your body and allow your body to release that tension on your next exhale.
Slowly begin to deepen your breath,
Making each breath a little fuller than the last.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your belly and chest as you breathe in and out.
And allow each breath to bring your awareness more and more into your body.
And if any thoughts float through your mind,
Just simply recognize them and kindly bring your awareness back to your body breathing.
With each breath,
Allow your body to relax more and more.
And when you're ready,
Imagine a rosebud about a foot or so in front of you.
And notice all of the details that you can about this rosebud.
The colors of the petals wrapped tightly around the outside.
The green leaves at the base of the bud and along the stem.
And perhaps the small thorns along the stem.
Create a clear image in your mind of this rosebud.
And allow your body to relax more and more,
Your breath slowly flowing in and out as you visualize this rosebud in your mind.
And now,
As if it is occurring in super slow motion,
Visualize the rosebud very slowly start to open up over the course of several minutes.
Any movement is very subtle.
And notice how this transformation from the rosebud to the open rose in full bloom happens due in part to the rose softening more and more.
As you visualize in your mind the image of this rosebud gently slowly unfolding,
Notice that quality of relaxation and transformation.
The rosebud isn't struggling or forcing,
In fact,
It's the opposite.
It's relaxing into this period of growth and change.
Keep this visualization in your mind's eye and see if you can bring this quality,
This wisdom of the rose,
This unfolding in a gentle,
Calm,
Peaceful way.
See if you can bring that into your body.
Feeling a sense of calm,
Peaceful opening and relaxation.
By relaxing into the changes in our lives,
We can set ourselves up to move through those periods with more ease and awareness.
Continue to hold this image in your mind,
Feeling a sense of calm,
Peace,
Gentle unfolding and invite those qualities into your body and mind.
Allow your body and mind to soften more and more with this visualization.
Now it's time to rest.
And when you're ready,
You can gently release the visualization of the root of your mind.
The root of your mind grows from your mind and begin to deepen your breath.
While keeping your eyes closed,
Bring your awareness to your body and to the space around you.
Feel where your body connects to the chair or the floor and notice any sounds around you.
And when you're ready,
Take a deep breath in and on your exhale,
Gently sit back,
Take a stretch and blink open your eyes.
