The Beatitudes,
A divine gift from Jesus.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom.
You have again answered a quiet invitation,
An ancient call from within to return to the stillness of your own being.
As you settle into this space,
Allow the external world to dissolve into the background.
Let your body relax.
Your breath becomes sacred as you inhale peace.
Release all tension as you exhale.
Remove all expression from your face.
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to change.
You have already arrived.
Now,
With each breath,
Imagine yourself floating ever closer to the peaceful presence that always lives beneath thought,
Untouched by time,
A presence free of fear.
Here and now,
There is no goal.
Here and now,
There is only what you really are,
Without story.
Let the past dissolve.
Let all concepts fade.
Let even the idea of you unwind as you melt into an ocean of silence,
To peace,
To clarity.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Sense the gentle humility of being empty,
Open,
And receptive.
Like a cup waiting to be filled.
Notice the vastness within you,
A quiet space,
Where you don't need to know or control.
In this openness,
There is a subtle joy,
A sense that something greater is present,
Embracing you.
Rest in this spaciousness,
Trusting that the kingdom of heaven is here in your heart now.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Bring to mind any sadness,
Loss,
Or longing.
Allow yourself to let it move through you,
Without judgment,
Without resistance.
Notice how,
As you acknowledge your sorrow,
A peaceful comfort arises.
The Holy Spirit rests within,
Guiding you home,
To the truth that you need to know.
Let this comfort even with the knowledge that you are never alone.
The Holy Spirit is with you in your mourning.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Embrace the quiet power of peaceful strength.
Yield to the flow of life.
You are connected to all life at peace.
Accept the world as it is.
Receive the gifts of Spirit in your stillness.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be satisfied.
Drop into your deepest stillness,
Where your sacred desire to return home is already answered.
Your deepest stillness,
Where your sacred desire for truth,
Goodness,
And justice rises from within,
Guiding you home to the quiet certainty of what you really are.
Let this sacred pull guide your attention.
Rest in the quiet joy of being connected to Source,
Aligned with the Holy Spirit.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Recall a moment when you or someone else offered forgiveness or kindness.
Open your heart to the energy of mercy,
A space of unconditional love,
A space of understanding and compassion.
Dissolving barriers and judgments,
Knowing that giving and receiving mercy are the same,
Bringing peace to your mind and warmth to your spirit.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Imagine your heart as clear still water,
Reflecting light,
Free from disturbance.
Let all your thoughts and worries settle,
Until only pure awareness remains.
Recognize the innocence and clarity at the core of your being.
In this stillness,
The radiance of the Divine Light shines through you.
You glow and begin to radiate this light as well.
You see the sacred in everything,
Everywhere.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called children of God.
Bring to mind a situation or relationship that could use more harmony.
Visualize yourself as a source of calm,
Radiating peace,
Radiating into the shared experience.
Your breath becomes a wave of tranquility,
Softening tension,
Dissolving conflict.
Experience the joy of being an instrument of reconciliation,
Bringing others together.
Rest in the deep belonging that comes from embodying peace.
Know that,
As a peacemaker,
You are part of the family of light.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Bring to mind a time you stood in your integrity,
For truth,
For kindness,
For the light in all things.
Remember the courage it took,
The support of spirit within you.
Acknowledge any pain,
Any misunderstanding you experienced,
Letting it be held in compassion.
There is a dignity,
There is a freedom that comes from living in alignment with your deepest values.
Rest in the assurance that,
No matter what,
You are embraced by the kingdom of heaven.
Let this strength and freedom fill you,
Anchoring you in the peace that passeth understanding,
The peace that cannot be shaken.
Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
As we rest in the quiet after receiving the gifts of each beatitude,
We remember these are not distant ideals.
They are true reflections of what is already within us.
Jesus,
Our elder brother,
Teacher,
And mentor,
Offers these words not as symbols of sacrifice,
But as signposts pointing home to the changeless peace of God already alive in our mind.
Through these teachings we recall our true inheritance.
The kingdom of God is not of this world,
But is within.
To be poor in spirit,
To be merciful,
To hunger for righteousness,
Is to uncover the radiance behind the veil.
Each beatitude becomes an invitation to choose again,
And to see with the eyes of Christ that only what is love is real,
And in this remembrance we are healed.
As these truths settle into the quiet of your heart,
Remember peace is your function,
Joy is your natural state.
As we walk forward,
Let us extend only what we would receive,
Offering peace,
Offering blessing,
Offering only love,
For that is what we are.
Now it is time to return to our regular waking state of thoughts,
Feelings,
And actions,
To time and space.
Take a few deep breaths to help establish the waking state.
