Welcome back friends to Sessions With Self and in this edition I want to share with you a short message and a story about our true nature.
About the truth of who we really are.
A while back I completed Michael Beckwith's life visioning program.
He opened one of his final sessions with a passionate monologue about the nature of existence that left me literally speechless.
Here is a gist of what he conveyed.
What are you going to do with eternity?
What if you were to stay exactly the same for the rest of eternity without changing,
Unfolding,
Or progressing?
That's called hell.
You as an internal being who is never born and will never die,
Out of nothing at all but a spiritual idea held in the mind's eye of the divine.
You came to be.
The cosmos,
The solar system,
Galaxies,
Living biology,
And planets continue to expand to reveal the infinite nature of what we might call spirit,
Innate intelligence,
Life force,
Infinite mind,
Universal intelligence,
The quantum field,
Or chi.
This enigma,
Regardless of what we call it,
Is the unlimited source of power that is always expanding and always on your side to assist you in your unfoldment.
What is unfoldment?
Unfoldment is not something you have to do or create.
It's already there.
It's a revelation of your intrinsic nature that has been hidden.
This divine source is progressive,
And much like it,
You are always progressing.
Whether through pain or insight,
You are always being pulled by a greater vision.
How stubborn have you been?
Either way,
You are on the path of eternal growth.
And what is eternal growth?
Heaven on earth,
Expanding good,
A presence that is never absent,
The context for the urgency of bliss that wants to move through you.
Michael Bernard Beckwith So a few mornings later after hearing this,
I woke up early with Michael's words fresh on my mind.
It was still pitch black outside,
And I thought I heard a faint knock on my bedroom door.
I was reminded of Michael's words,
Quote,
The urgency of bliss that wants to move through you.
Unfoldment,
A revelation of your own intrinsic nature that has been hidden.
Quote,
How stubborn have you been?
Then something clicked in as I thought to myself,
There's a knock at the door?
Will I answer it?
As I stared more closely at the door,
I was taken aback by the brilliance of light shining underneath it.
I was then reminded of the poem,
Awakening Now,
By the poet Dana Folds,
In which she writes,
Why wait for your awakening?
Do you value your reasons for staying small more than the light shining through the open door?
Forgive yourself.
Now is the only time you have to be whole.
Now.
Now is the sole moment that exists to live in the light of your true nature.
Perfection is not a prerequisite for anything but pain.
Please,
Oh please,
Don't continue to believe in your stories of deficiency and failure.
This is the day of your awakening.
At that moment,
It all made sense.
Michael's message became clear and all personal suffering seemed to be nothing but an illusion.
More importantly,
It left me with two questions that I'd like to pose to you.
Will you answer the faint knock at the door when it happens?
More importantly,
Will you start to notice the ever-present light shining underneath it?
As Dana mentions in her poem,
Now is the sole moment that exists to live in the light of your true nature.
Life is a beautiful,
Wonderful,
Magical carpet ride,
Friends.
And you are divinely perfect.
The illusion of unworthiness,
Doubt,
And insecurity are just that,
Illusions.
You have the light.
You are the light.
You are an infinite being of love and serenity.
So my message for you,
Don't waste another moment not answering that door.
Because the light in me recognizes and dearly honors the light in you.
