Well hello everyone once again.
It's yogi Phoenix with another episode in the Niyamas.
I will do a full course of all the eight low limbs and how they appropriate to and can be used in yoga nidra.
So today we're going to be covering the first of the Niyamas.
Which is saucha.
And saucha is cleanliness is one way of putting it.
But it's more than just having a shower.
That's obviously part and parcel of it because keeping the body clean is vital.
However it's much more about purity of thought and cleanliness of the mind.
And so once again yoga nidra lends itself to any of these kinds of ideas or Patanjali's ideas.
And so we're going to work through that and see how you can apply this not only in your yoga nidra practice but taking it forward into your life.
So as you know the first thing that we do when we come to a yoga nidra practice is we set what's called a sankapa.
And the sankapa is a positive affirmation that that is something that you would like to manifest within your life.
And today we're going to you know keep it towards the saucha or the purity aspect of your being.
And of course if you are working with currently working with another sankapa well that's fine you can stay with that if you wish.
So the sankapa is said in the present tense it's succinct and something that you need to manifest.
So to give you an ideas of a couple of sankapas that would work with this theme that we're exploring today is I'm clear,
Calm and centered.
That might be useful for most of us.
My inner light shines free of distractions or debris.
That might be something else that we may use.
So something along those lines that allows you to have more clarity and purity within your life,
More cleanliness.
So when you set this I'd like you to drop into the heart which is pure and clean.
And ask your heart what it is that it needs.
And then simply listen.
Bring that to mind.
Repeat three times and simply let go.
Just let go.
Once we've established our sankapa then of course we're going to work through the body on rotating the consciousness throughout the body.
There's nothing to do here just simply listen to my words.
I'd like you to think once again to bring it back into that santosha.
Think about purification of the areas.
Think about a soft light going to the area that I suggest.
So let's just take a soft light,
A soft pure light to your heart.
Imagine a soft green pure light in your heart.
And feel the beating of your heart if you can.
Simply feeling into the heart.
Feel that cleanliness within.
And let's take that shining light up to your third eye.
Feel the brow.
Feel the eyes.
The nose and the mouth.
Feel the face.
And the ears.
Listen to the sounds.
Simply listen to the sounds.
Notice the clarity of the sounds.
Feel the back of the body against the mat.
Feel the hands open.
Imagine the light,
The soft white clear light in the palms of your hands.
Feel the energy within the palms of your hands.
And feel the front body.
Feel the clothes against the skin.
And the expansion and contraction of the chest.
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Cool clear air moving in and out of the body.
Inhale clarity.
Exhale what no longer serves you.
Watch the body breathing.
With each breath the fog of uncertainty lifts.
The fog of uncertainty lifts.
The self is revealed.
Pure.
Just breathe.
Just breathe.
Imagine that feeling.
When you're dirty,
You've been working in the garden or perhaps doing a job that's made you dirty,
Grubby,
And you haven't had a shower.
Your clothes are dirty.
Your hands are dirty.
Your nose is blocked.
Dust.
Just feel that.
And then feel clean.
The warm water cleansing you in the shower.
Feeling the warm water clear,
Cleansing,
And pure.
And washing away the dirt.
Washing all the dirt away.
Imagine a clear mountain spring.
Running down the mountainside.
Cascading over rocks.
A small waterfall.
A clear pond.
Brilliant sky.
Blue and everlasting.
Warm sun.
Taking off your clothes.
Diving in the clear water.
Diving deeper now.
Getting deeper now.
Much deeper now.
A feeling of purity.
Your pure essence.
In touch with your pure essence.
Reside in that.
Just be with that.
Stay with that.
Purity.
Feel refreshed.
Slowly start to come back to this level of consciousness.
Breathe that pure beautiful air into your lungs.
Feel the cleanliness.
Of who you are.
Gently coming back to this level of consciousness.
Control the breath.
And come back.
Come back now.
Gently start to come back.
Start to move the toes and the fingers.
Stretch the body out.
Taking some deep breaths in.
And when you're ready,
You may like to roll onto the left or the right side.
And stay there for a moment.
The practice of yoga nidra is over.
This is yogi Phoenix signing off.
Be sure to check out my other yoga nidra practices.
On the Niyamas and eventually on all of the eight limbs.
Thank you once again for being with me.
Have a fabulous day.
What's next?
Much love.
May we have love in the heart,
Truth in the speech,
And gratitude in the mind.
Namaste.
