Welcome everybody to our meditation practice today.
This is going to be the final one of the Simply Happy series.
I hope you've enjoyed it.
It's been fun putting it together for you all.
There will be another series happening after this,
But I thought I would finish this one with a simple gratitude practice.
Gratitude,
Of course,
Is the inner essence.
It's really where we can find true peace and contentment,
Regardless of how tough times might seem.
And as they say,
Tough people last,
But tough times don't.
And one of the ways that we can make our way through these challenging times is to really feel grateful for what it is we've received in this life.
The love of others,
The love you gave.
Running water,
It could be a cup of tea.
It really is as simple or as deep as you'd like it to be.
But in this practice,
What I'd like you to feel is the essence of gratitude,
The heartfelt gratitude,
That's beyond just being thankful because you've got a cup of tea,
Which is lovely within itself.
So basically,
Just get yourselves comfortable into your meditation posture,
Whichever whichever suits you there.
And settle in.
Just take a few moments to get as comfortable as you possibly can.
Just settling in now,
Lying or seated,
Whichever is best for you and starting to focus on the breath.
Just gently allowing the breath to settle down and give yourself this opportunity to just be here,
Grateful for the way things are.
So the type of gratitude I'm talking about here is not the one that's on billboards.
It's the one that is quiet,
Dependable,
Within yourself.
It keeps you steady when life gets messy.
It helps you remember that even through tough moments,
There are always small anchors for you to hold on to.
Settling into the breath now,
Bringing your attention there,
Feeling the inhale,
Feeling the exhale.
Simple,
Steady,
And human.
Let your body relax just a little bit deeper with each breath.
Let the day loosen its grip.
Allow everything to fall away.
And as you feel the breath coming into you,
Be grateful.
Be grateful for this miracle that abounds within you.
The breath coming back to you each time.
Dropping deeper into that.
Deeper into that.
So gratitude isn't a list.
It's a feeling.
It's a feeling of being supported.
A sense that not everything is falling apart.
A quiet,
Stabilizing thread of goodness.
Available for you to sew through the fabric of your life any time you want.
Simply sew that thread through the fabric of your life.
Let your body just get deeper now.
Get the mind deeper now.
Begin here.
Bring your mind to one small thing that helps you.
Not necessarily dramatic.
Might be just your breath.
A loved one.
Your faithful dog.
Your home.
Your body.
Whatever comes first is enough.
And feel into it.
Feel into the sense of deep gratitude you have.
This is your human part shining through.
Allow it to come to you.
And rest in the essence of gratitude.
Simply rest in the essence of gratitude.
Now bring to mind a time recently or long ago when things were difficult.
One of those challenging times.
Not to relive it,
But to acknowledge it.
And acknowledge how you made it through.
And how you grew because of that.
And now notice something.
Even through those dark times,
There were moments,
Tiny ones,
That helped you keep going.
A sunny morning.
A smile from a baby.
The smell of a flower.
Rest in that.
Maybe someone checked in on you.
Maybe your breath steadied you.
But you simply made it through the day.
One day at a time.
This is gratitude in tough times.
The quiet knowing that you weren't completely alone.
Rest in the goodness of yourself.
Be grateful.
Simply rest in that.
Feel that support again now.
Small,
Simple,
But very real.
Let your body soften around it.
Let your breath become soft and shallow.
You don't need to be grateful for everything.
Just this one thing is enough.
Gratitude isn't forced light.
It's a steady flame that stays lit even when the room is dark.
See the gratitude within you.
See that flame that's always burning.
Be one with that.
Rest here for a while with the breath.
With the small feeling of support.
With this quiet,
Steady icon.
Just rest.
Just rest.
Happiness isn't a rush or a high.
It's a simple sense of being held by something good.
Even when life is challenging.
Let yourself rest in that truth.
Soft and gentle.
Resting in the essence of gratitude.
Be grateful for everything you've received in this life.
Begin to feel your body again.
The weight of yourself.
The steadiness of your breath.
And start to breathe the body.
Take control of the breath.
Gently starting to move the toes and the fingers.
And coming back to this level of awareness.
Coming back now.
And as you lie here,
As you come back,
Or sit here as you come back,
Carry this quiet gratitude within you.
Not as a performance,
But as a tool.
A way back to yourself.
Whenever things get difficult.
Things get a little bit above you and tough.
It's always there.
All the way back now.
All the way back now.
The practice of gratitude,
Meditation is finished.
Thank you for joining me.
It's been my pleasure as always.
So from my heart to yours,
Much love,
Yogi Phoenix.
Hopefully,
I'll see you next time.
Until then,
May you have love in the heart,
Truth in the speech,
And gratitude in the breath.
And gratitude in the mind.
Until we meet again in the next series,
Have a wonderful time.
And I will be with you again soon.
If you enjoyed this,
Of course,
Look for my next series as it comes up.
Or perhaps leave a comment.
Share with others.
Thank you once again.
And goodbye.
