Hello,

My friends,

And welcome to this meditation.

You don't have to figure this out right now.

Take a moment to settle into your favorite meditation seat.

You might be seated or lying down,

Whatever allows your body to feel supported.

There's no need for perfection.

There's no need to do this right.

Allow your eyes to close or your gaze to soften.

Begin by noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.

We aren't changing it yet.

Just observe the gentle rise and fall of your body as you breathe in and as you breathe out.

You might place one hand on your chest or one hand on your belly as a quiet reminder that you're here and that this moment is already holding you.

And now invite the breath to slow.

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth,

Letting the breath fall away.

Inhale slowly.

And as you exhale,

Exhale as if you're releasing a long,

Long sigh.

Let the exhale be just a little bit longer than the inhale,

A subtle signal to your nervous system that it's safe to soften.

As you continue breathing,

Begin to notice where your body is holding tension today.

No judgment,

Just notice.

Perhaps there's tightness in your jaw or your shoulders,

Maybe the belly or your eyes.

And wherever you notice you're holding,

Imagine the breath moving right there.

And let the breath make space there.

Every exhale,

You release and let go,

Creating space in your body and in your mind.

And now bring your attention to your thoughts.

Notice the activity there,

The thoughts that might be looping,

The questions that keep asking for answers,

And the urge to figure something out.

You might have thoughts like,

What should I do next?

Or how will this work out?

Or why can't I see the answer yet?

Notice.

If these thoughts are present,

Know this.

This is what the mind does when it's trying to protect you.

Offer yourself this reminder,

You don't have to figure this out right now.

Let those words land softly.

You don't have to figure this out right now.

You don't have to know the next step.

You don't have to solve the whole thing.

You don't have to make sense of everything in this moment.

Allow your breath to carry that message through your whole body.

Imagine placing whatever it is you're trying to figure out down beside you.

You're not ignoring it.

You're not giving up on it.

You're simply allowing it to rest for now.

Picture setting it on the ground or on a nearby shelf.

With the quiet understanding that you can return to it later.

Right now,

Your only job is to be here.

Feel the support beneath you.

The floor,

The chair.

The surface holding your weight.

Let yourself be held by gravity.

Notice how your body already knows how to breathe without your effort.

How the heart continues to beat without instructions.

How life is moving through you and around you,

Even when answers are unclear.

And perhaps you repeat to yourself,

Either silently or aloud,

I don't have to figure this out right now.

I can let this be unfinished.

I am safe to rest in not knowing.

I don't have to figure this out right now.

I can let this be unfinished.

I am safe to rest in not knowing.

Let each phrase settle like ripples fading on water.

And if your mind wanders,

And it will,

Simply notice that it has drifted.

And guide your attention back to the breath.

There's no failure here.

Returning is the practice.

Again and again,

You are allowed to come back.

And now imagine breathing in a sense of spaciousness.

And breathing out the urgency you may be attached to.

Inhale spaciousness.

Exhale release.

The breath is a reminder that clarity often arrives when we stop chasing it.

That insight tends to emerge when our nervous system feels safe enough to soften.

And for the next few breaths,

Rest in this simple truth.

You are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to not know.

And you are allowed to let this unfold in its own time.

Nothing is required of you in this moment except presence.

And as we begin to close,

Bring your awareness back to your body.

Notice the sensations in your hands.

In your feet.

In your face.

And feel the steadiness of your breath.

And before you open your eyes,

Offer yourself one final reminder.

I don't have to figure this out right now.

And that is enough.

When you're ready,

Gently wiggle the fingers and the toes.

And if your eyes are closed,

Allow them to blink open slowly.

Carry this sense of ease with you into the rest of your day.

Knowing that clarity doesn't need to be forced.

And that rest is not a delay.

It's part of the path.

It's part of the journey.

I really appreciate this meditation reminder that I do not need to figure things out right away. As in breath meditation, a little space helps.
