In times of anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotion, children can become overstimulated, and overwhelmed and struggle to regulate the big feelings they hold inside. By incorporating playful, creative, and mindful ways to focus on their breath, we are able to bring them back to the vast present moment right in front of their eyes. This Breathwork Practice is a part of my 'Rooted Families' Nervous System Regulation Workbook.

Transcript

Dragon Breath Sit or stand comfortably with a straight spine.

Take a deep breath in through the nose,

Filling the lungs completely.

Hold the breath for a moment,

Imagining yourself drawing in the strength and the power of a dragon.

Exhale forcefully through the mouth with a haaaaa sound,

Imagining you're breathing out fire,

Releasing all stress and tension.

Repeat this 5-7 times.

This will help you to release pent up energy and stress,

Fostering a sense of empowerment and calm.
