
Releasing Resistance: Chakra Cleanse

Hello,
I'm Ashley Woods from AshleyWoods.
Com and today's meditation is about releasing resistance and coming into alignment.
Alignment is our natural state of allowing.
We get out of alignment with source energy when we fight against what is or when we hold thoughts that are in contradiction to the source within us.
So today we're going to practice coming into alignment through active surrender.
This analogy really spoke to me.
So imagine that you get in your car to go somewhere and you start the engine,
Pull out of the driveway,
But you never release the emergency brake.
So you might notice that your car is making a weird noise or something smells a little funny,
But you just keep driving.
And because your car can drive like that,
You press on and you sense the tension that's created as you accelerate against this brake.
This is like the resistance that we so often experience in our daily lives and many times we don't even realize it's there.
It's like we're so used to driving with the brake on.
We don't really think much about it.
Can you begin to sense the feeling of relief that would come from releasing the brake?
The momentum and the ease that would naturally follow?
Yes.
That would feel really good,
Wouldn't it?
So that's what we're going to create today.
I'm just going to take the brake off and allow some ease.
So settle into your seat and close your eyes and sit up nice and tall with a straight spine.
And for a moment,
Tighten your shoulders,
Draw them up next to your ears,
Squeezing and building some tension there.
Just feeling the tension as you hold your shoulders tight.
And now let them drop heavily at your side.
Once more,
Taking a breath in and tightening as you draw your shoulders up to your ears,
Squeezing and holding and releasing.
Keeping your shoulders relaxed,
Take all your attention into your hands and ball up your fist with tension.
Tighten and squeeze each hand together,
Just feeling the energy build there.
Tightening and holding.
And now let go.
Allow your hands to relax.
And moving in the opposite direction,
Slowly uncurling your fingers and opening your palms wide,
Spreading your fingers and continuing until you're stretching your hands as wide and open as possible.
Stretching big,
Really putting some tension into your hands,
Stretching them wide and holding them there.
And release.
Relaxing your hands,
Place your hands gently on your knees or in your lap where they're comfortable.
Relaxing your whole body,
Allowing yourself to rest here for the next several minutes.
Let your breath be easy and natural.
It's safe to let go.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Now taking a giant step back from the thoughts in your mind,
Notice them from a distance as they float in and out of your awareness.
Like watching a movie on a big screen.
Your thoughts flash before you and you remain seated as the conscious witness of it all.
If you find at any time throughout this meditation that you're lost in thought,
It's enough to just notice and come back.
You can use this imagery if it supports you.
Just seeing your thoughts on the big screen,
Noticing yourself there as the observer or the witness of it all.
And come back to your breath,
Back to your body,
Back to my voice.
Feel into the support beneath you.
Soften your belly.
Gently scanning your body.
Observing if there's any place of tension or holding and lovingly taking your breath there,
Inviting it to relax.
Soft shoulders,
Soft neck,
Open chest.
We're going to spend a few minutes bringing into our awareness any kind of resistance that might be in our body.
We're going to begin at the base of our spine and our root chakra and work our way up.
Just like releasing the emergency brake on the car,
We're just going to release resistance in that area.
And we'll recognize resistance is any place that we feel tightness,
Constriction.
It might feel like worry or anxiety,
Anger or jealousy,
Fear,
Hopelessness.
Any other number of negative or what we might call not so good feeling emotions.
And we're not going to look for them.
You don't have to work hard here.
You're not going in search of something.
You're simply inviting the places of tension and tightness to float to the surface of your mind.
Flash before you on the movie screen,
Just releasing the brake,
Letting what's there be there without trying to hold it at arm's length.
We'll take your attention now to the base of your spine,
To the area of your sexual glands and breathe in the color red and allow any feelings of fear or anger to rise to the surface here.
Whatever shows up is fine.
There's nothing you have to do with it.
Just allow it to be there in the loving light of your conscious awareness.
Continue breathing red into this area of your body and invite the release of any resistance.
Starting to breathe red.
Perhaps you envision the red like a balloon that inflates with each inhale,
Deflates with each exhale.
Pulsing,
Expanding,
Breathing along with you.
Allow whatever is there to be there.
Inviting movement in our root chakra.
Inviting release.
Moving our attention up now to the space just below our belly button.
The space of our womb as women.
Our sacral chakra.
Breathing in the color orange and softening this area of our body.
Providing feelings of jealousy,
Shame,
Guilt to rise to the surface where they can dissolve.
Breathing orange into the belly.
Letting the orange inflate like a balloon with each breath.
Deflate with each exhale.
Allowing this pulsating ball of orange energy to loosen and release anything that might be stuck in this area of our body.
Inviting orange into our belly.
Take your attention up to the space just above your navel.
Directly in the center of your body.
Your solar plexus chakra.
Inviting in the color yellow.
Flooding the center of your body with yellow.
And here we release the break.
We release any resistance or holding and we allow feelings of insecurity or self doubt to come out into the light of our loving attention.
Not looking for them to be there,
Just allowing them to be there if they are.
Not trying to hold them or keep them away,
But just softening and letting them be.
We all have feelings of insecurity at times.
We all doubt ourselves at times.
Just giving ourselves permission to be human and to feel these things.
Softening as you breathe yellow.
Yellow light in and out of this area of your body,
The center of your body.
Envisioning the ball of yellow inflating and deflating with each breath.
Drawing your attention up to the heart center.
Now breathe in the color green.
See your heart space expanding before you now as you continue to breathe in the color green.
Inflating your heart space with each inhale.
Inviting the movement to release anything that's stuck here.
Having feelings of abandonment or loneliness to rise up.
Just letting them float to the surface into your loving awareness.
Having space in your heart for whatever is there.
Continue to see green as you breathe in and out of your heart center.
Now take your attention to your throat chakra.
Bringing in a bright turquoise blue color into your throat.
Seeing the space of your throat open up and clear out with each inhalation.
Each exhale.
Having feelings of powerlessness to be released from your body and your experience.
See this pulsating ball of turquoise blue energy with each breath.
Bring out your throat making space for your true voice.
Feeling the breaks off.
Releasing resistance in the throat chakra.
Move your breath and your attention up to the space just between your eyes.
And breathe indigo blue into this energy center.
Into your third eye chakra.
See the color of indigo blue pulsating,
Expanding with each breath.
And as you hold your attention there,
Invite feelings of confusion,
Fear or anxiety about the future.
Allow them to surface and soften.
Breathing and breathing indigo blue light into your third eye.
Now move your attention and your breath to the very top of your head.
Bringing in a purple violet light directly into the top of your head and allowing it to fill your body from the top down.
Invite any depression,
Heaviness,
Isolation,
Loneliness to rise to the surface here and rest gently in the light of your love.
Let there be no resistance to whatever arises.
Just pure allowing of what is.
Any emotion,
Any feeling,
Any thoughts.
Letting them be.
Flooding your body with this violet light.
Letting it pour down into you.
Inviting anything that needs to be released to bubble up to the surface.
Allowing it all to be there.
No resistance.
And see yourself now standing at the edge of a beautiful sparkling lake.
As I count down from 10,
You're going to walk into the lake until you're completely submerged in its cleansing waters.
Rinsing yourself clean of any lingering resistance,
Any lingering tension,
And all negativity.

Stepping in at the water's edge.
Feeling the warmth of the water on your toes.

Stepping deeper,
You feel the water rise up your legs with each step.

Feeling your body get lighter and lighter as the water rises past your waist.

Letting yourself sink in until the water covers your shoulders.

Your neck.
Your face.

Completely submerged and surrounded by the cleansing water.
Weightless.
Free.
Fluid.
Allow your body to slowly float up to the surface.
Resting on your back,
Floating atop the calm water.
Feel the effortlessness and the ease of just being.
The light glimmering on the surface all around you.
Rest in this lightness.
Take a moment here to just float and rest in the easiness that we found and created for ourselves.
Let yourself recharge.
And in a moment you'll hear my voice when it's time to come back.
Letting yourself sink in until the water covers your shoulders.
Resting on your back,
Floating atop the calm water.
Standing up now and coming out of the water,
Your whole being sparkling and shining with light,
Cleansed at ease,
Refreshed.
Walking back to the shore,
Take a deep breath into your body,
Breathe out,
Bring your attention back to the sounds of the room where you're in,
Back to your body in this place,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes,
And opening your eyes when you're ready to go on about your day.
