When overwhelm rises and everything feels too much, this grounding practice helps you slow down, steady your breath, and return to the safety of your own centre. Through gentle guidance, grounding breath, and spacious awareness, you’ll reconnect with your body, calm your nervous system, and soften the emotional intensity of the moment. This meditation can be especially supportive when you’re stressed or unbalanced, and many listeners find it deeply relaxing. If you’re using it during the day, allow a little time afterwards to stretch, breathe fresh air, or gently re-awaken before returning to tasks that require focus and alertness. Let this be your space to pause, settle, and remember that you don’t have to navigate everything at once. You can come back to this meditation any time you need to feel steady, supported, and held from within.

Take a moment to find a comfortable position.

Seated,

Standing or lying down.

Let your body choose what feels most supportive right now.

As you settle,

Know that the music accompanying this meditation carries a very gentle layer of positive,

Supportive affirmations.

You won't hear them consciously.

However,

They're woven through the sound to help your body and energy relax,

Connect and grind even more deeply.

If you are seated,

Feel your feet resting fully on the ground,

Your hips supported by the chair holding you.

If you're lying down,

Notice the full length of your body being held and allow your body to soften,

Knowing that it is fully supported.

And if you're standing,

Sense your weight balanced evenly between both feet,

Kept hip width apart.

Invite your spine to remain straight yet at the same time relaxed.

Now,

Take a slow,

Easy breath in through your nose and exhale out through your mouth,

Letting your shoulders soften and relax.

Again,

Breathe in deeply through your nose,

Filling and expanding your stomach and exhale slowly out through your mouth,

Inviting your jaw to loosen and relax.

One more time,

Breathe in calm,

Breathe out tension and let go of the busyness of the day.

For one final time,

Inhale peace and exhale everything you do not need to carry right now.

Let your breath find its own steady,

Natural rhythm now.

Breathing in and breathing out.

With each inhale,

Arrive a little more fully.

With each exhale,

Release what doesn't belong in this moment.

Whatever came before can wait.

Whatever is still to come can be placed on pause.

Right now,

There is only this breath,

This stillness,

This space that belongs entirely to you.

Imagine yourself standing within a cluster of trees.

The air is cool,

Alive with the scent of earth and moss.

Above you,

Branches reach wide and tall,

Their leaves whispering softly in the breeze.

Filtered sunlight dances across the forest floor,

Tracing golden patterns on the soil.

You notice the colors,

Deep greens,

Rich browns,

The shimmering of bark,

The warm gold of fallen leaves.

Every breath you take fills your lungs with freshness,

Calm and quiet strength.

You are safe here.

You are surrounded by wisdom,

The kind that has watched seasons change and never once hurried the process.

Take a moment to choose the trees that surround you.

Perhaps it's a circle of oak,

Strong and ancient.

Maybe beech or birch,

Gentle and luminous.

Let your intuition guide you to whichever feels most inviting.

Among these trees,

One draws your attention.

Its energy feels familiar,

Almost like an old friend.

Walk towards it.

As you approach,

Sense its life force,

Steady,

Welcoming.

Patient.

You can choose how to connect with the energy of this tree.

Maybe you feel called to become one with this tree,

Sensing your body merge with its trunk,

Your spine aligning with its strength.

Or perhaps it feels right to lean against it,

Resting your back on its bark,

And letting its calm energy flow into you.

Trust your instinct.

Both are perfect.

As you rest here,

Imagine gentle warmth forming at the soles of your feet.

A soft tingling,

Like sunlight beneath your skin.

That warmth begins to flow downward,

Extending into the earth.

You are growing roots,

Strong,

Luminous roots of light.

They travel deeper and deeper,

Weaving through layers of soil,

Stone,

Crystal.

Feel their texture beneath your awareness.

Cool,

Moist earth,

Giving way to solid rock,

Then to the slow,

Steady heartbeat of the planet itself.

With each inhale,

You draw up nourishment and calm from the earth below.

And with each exhale,

Your roots widen and anchor you further.

Your roots meet the roots of your chosen tree,

Intertwining in perfect harmony.

There's no separation now,

Only one shared pulse of life.

Every breath you take echoes through this network of roots,

Reminding you,

You belong here.

You are supported.

You are safe.

Pause and feel the rhythm of the earth,

The quiet pulse beneath your feet,

Beneath the roots,

Beneath everything.

While the music continues to play,

Simply stay with your roots.

Feel them deepen with every breath,

Carrying away what no longer serves you,

And drawing in quiet replenishment from the earth.

Let the music and its gentle,

Restorative messages drift through your subconscious like ripples through soil,

Soft,

Unseen,

Settling where they are most needed.

There's nothing to do,

Nowhere to go,

Just breathe,

Rest,

And allow the vibration to anchor you in calm.

Remain here for a little while,

Breathing with the earth,

Resting in the company of your tree and the steady heartbeat beneath you.

Gradually let your awareness rise back towards the surface.

The music softens,

Your focus returns to the gentle rhythm of your breathing.

Notice the air moving through your nose and throat.

Feel your chest rise and fall.

Sense the weight of your body again,

Grounded,

Supported,

Present.

The roots beneath you remain,

You don't need to pull them back.

They'll always be there when you need stability,

Quietly anchoring your energy to the earth's steady pulse.

Now,

Bring a little movement back into your body.

Gently wiggle your fingers and wriggle your toes.

Perhaps roll your shoulders or gently stretch your neck.

Take a slow breath in and sigh it out with a sense of release.

If your eyes are closed,

You can open them now,

Letting light return gradually.

Notice how you feel,

Heavier in the best way,

Calm and fully here.

You might wish to whisper softly to yourself,

I am grounded.

I am calm.

I am connected.

I am home.

Carry that groundedness with you into the rest of your day,

Into every choice,

Every interaction,

Every breath.

Remember that the world can be loud,

However,

Your roots run deeper than the noise.
