Hi,

This is Theresa Conte.

Welcome to Day 6 of 30 Days of Gratitude to Inspire and Uplift You.

Today,

I'd like to share a quote by Roy T.

Bennett.

He says,

Be mindful,

Be grateful,

Be positive,

Be kind.

And now,

A thought to ponder.

Whether we call it cause and effect or karma,

Like a boomerang,

What we give out comes back to us.

Think of a time you were annoyed with someone because they weren't doing what you asked.

Take a quick scan of your body and notice how you feel as you reflect upon the situation.

Is your breathing deep or shallow?

Are your shoulders relaxed or are they scrunched up around your neck?

Is your jaw relaxed or are your teeth clenched?

Sometimes if I think a negative thought about myself,

Someone else,

A particular situation or even something in my environment I feel flustered about,

The universe responds immediately.

For instance,

There have been several times when a glass has slipped out of my hand or I'll spill something on the floor or on occasion,

Oh my,

I've even walked into a wall.

A little embarrassing to admit,

But true nonetheless.

Everything has a vibration.

When we're out of tune,

Life in its infinite wisdom gives us clear and irrefutable feedback so we can learn from the experience,

Make another choice and reverse our course.

Have you noticed a surprising response when you think a negative thought?

Now let go of that and think of a time you did an act of kindness for someone,

Something you felt inspired to do without a desire or expectation of anything in return.

It could have been something you did for a friend,

A family member,

A colleague or a perfect stranger.

Once again,

Notice how you feel in your body.

Does your chest feel open or constricted?

Is your breath shallow or flowing?

Are your shoulders relaxed or tense?

How do you feel when you think about the act of giving?

Our acts of kindness will likely return to us in unexpected ways either in the present moment or at some future time.

Being grateful,

Mindful,

Positive and kind are intricately related.

Being kind awakens our hearts.

Being positive helps us find the good in ourselves,

In others and in our lives.

Being grateful reminds us that we are prosperous.

Being mindful,

We recognize it all.

Choose one trait a week to focus on.

Take note of any changes in how you think,

Feel and act as well as any shifts in your experience as you practice the qualities of mindfulness,

Gratitude,

Positivity and kindness.

If you wish,

Write about your experience at the end of each week to increase your learning.

Wishing you a most wonderful day!
