Hi I'm Shell,

Thank you for joining me.

This meditation is to assist you from the transition of your day and to prepare you for rest or sleep.

So wherever you are get really really comfortable.

Take a few extra moments to shuffle and wiggle,

Really settle in.

We put today to rest.

We'll start by bringing some awareness to our senses so we can land right here in this time for rest.

We notice our touch and feel the parts of the body as they rest on that support beneath you.

Notice the parts of the body that touch the surface below.

Perhaps your clothing touching your skin.

Then noticing your hands relaxing into them uncurling any fingers and place them wherever feels most grounding and most comfortable.

Either on the body or palms facing down beside you.

We'll then relax our jaw.

Let the tongue gently release any tension in the mouth.

In a sweeping action let the tongue move around all the walls of the mouth.

Notice any taste sensation there.

We'll drift our awareness now to our nostrils.

First noticing the next cycle of our breath as it moves in and out.

Perhaps noticing any smells that it brings with it.

The smell of the evening air.

We'll notice any sounds that you can hear now but first in the far-off distance.

Listening far away.

Now notice any sounds in the room that you're in or your close surrounds.

And now bring your awareness to the sound of your breath.

Can you notice that subtle sound of your own breath?

We'll drift now up to our physical eyes.

Gently softening or closing them down.

Taking your awareness inward now.

Retreating into your own inner sanctuary.

With the shades of your eyes softly drawn closed.

Notice now yourself being breathed so effortlessly.

Just as the breath is breathing for you now.

For you start to let go of the day by resting into the rhythms of this action.

The breath in like the Sun rising and the breath out like the day drawing close by the sunset.

Breathe in the doing that is dumb.

Our yang.

The breath out the undoing of the day.

Our yin.

Noticing the breath a little bit more.

Let's notice now the space in between the inhale and the exhale.

As you breathe in notice the fullness at the top of the inhale.

That little space or pause in between before you let the exhalation release the day.

Let's notice five more cycles of this breath.

Resting our awareness in that space just at the top of the breath.

That transition from your day.

And as the cycle of your breath continues.

Continues this undoing.

Gently and softly guide your awareness to the yin side of the breath.

The exhalation.

We'll rest in all that is yin now.

Relaxing into calm.

Relaxing into slow.

Relaxing into cool.

Relaxing into quiet.

Relaxing into restful.

Inactive.

Inner and deep.

Lean into these yin qualities of your exhalation.

Your breath out releasing your day as the body sighs with each cycle of letting go.

Permission to let go.

Energetically washing the day away with each cycle.

Each exhalation.

Each exhalation.

Each breath out.

Relaxing your muscles.

Washing calm into your mind.

Washing calm into your body.

Washing calm into your inner sanctuary.

Your inner world.

Your inner spirit and your home.

Soft now.

Relaxed now.

Released from your day.

Sinking deeper into rest with each exhale.

Just to be now.

No doing.

Just let go with every cell.

Every cell at rest now.

Drifting into rest spaciousness.

Observing one more cycle of breath.

As it washes in let it bring the intention of let and as it washes out let it bring the intention of go.

Let go.
