Find a position that's comfortable for you and if you feel safe where you are you can close your eyes or just soften your focus if you prefer to do that and settle into the body,

Finding a position that's alert and awake but not stiff,

Uncross your arms,

Maybe tap your feet,

Feeling your feet on the ground,

Wiggle your butt a little,

Wiggle your shoulders,

Feel yourself settle,

Maybe breathe a little deeper,

A little longer than is normal,

Look at yourself here into this space,

Maybe unclench the jaw,

Release the tongue from the roof of the mouth,

Allowing your awareness to just scan the body,

Seeing if there's any part of the body that wants extra attention,

Rest your non-judgmental,

Loving,

Kind awareness on that body part,

Just sit with it for a moment,

Bringing your breath back to a normal,

Whatever feels natural kind of pace,

Letting your awareness ride the breath,

Sensing the air as it enters the body,

The temperature,

The sensations,

Your chest expanding,

The pause at the top,

Your belly as it relaxes and the air escapes,

The temperature of the air as it leaves,

When you catch your mind wandering,

Just escort it gently back to whatever portion of the breath you're at at that time,

Maybe softening the eyes,

Turning the corners of the eyes up into a smile,

Turning the lips into a small,

Gentle smile,

Breathing through a smile,

Noticing any changes,

Any differences between breathing and breathing through a smile,

Any new sensations,

What it's like to breathe through a smile,

You may notice an intention you have for being here today,

You can just let that be,

Just notice it,

Bringing to mind now the client that you're about to meet,

Noticing all the thoughts,

Any feelings,

Any emotions you have when you think of this person or this meeting,

Being aware of the body sensations that arise as you visualize this person in your space,

Where in your body you feel that,

What it feels like in the body,

To think about this person,

Just letting those be and just noticing them,

You can notice any fears or concerns you have about this meeting or about this person,

Imagine you have a little file folder called fears and concerns and you can just notice those fears and concerns in that folder,

As they arise,

You just file them,

Notice the body sensations of those fears or concerns,

Do they have a shape or a color to them,

A weight,

Temperature,

Not changing them,

Just noticing,

That's what it feels like,

The folder is available at any time to put more into,

Breathing as deeply as feels appropriate for this,

Not changing anything or resisting anything,

Just noticing,

When you're ready,

You can shift your awareness now,

To any desires or wants you have for this meeting or for this person,

The outcomes you want to have,

How you want to feel,

How you want them to feel,

Notice you have another folder called desires and wants,

And they can go in there,

Noticing the body sensations that come with the desires or wants,

Where in the body you feel those,

Do those desires or wants have a shape or a color,

A weight or a temperature,

Again not resisting or bringing anything else to it,

But awareness,

This is how that folder feels,

You notice there's another folder,

It's got intentions in it,

Maybe different than the wants or desires,

Maybe the same,

Could have in it how you intend to operate,

Your intended outcome,

Again you're looking for the sensations in the body of those intentions,

The location,

The shape,

The color,

Size,

Just breathing,

Noticing,

You can say this is what I intend,

See what shows up,

It goes right in that folder,

Maintaining that soft smile,

Sit in with the folders now,

Your fears,

Your concerns,

Your wants,

Your desires,

And your intentions,

Notice if there's anything that still needs to be filed,

Anything that's still floating around,

So you can just be present and available for all of it,

And visualize meeting this person,

Picture a calm,

Connected conversation with them,

And as thoughts arise,

You just notice them and put them in the appropriate folder,

Stay open,

Curious,

Engaged,

Connected with them,

Notice that you have room for all of it,

Notice that no matter how it goes,

You can still stay connected and grounded,

With room and space to hold anything that happens,

Remind yourself you don't know how it's going to go until it goes,

No future,

No past,

Just the present moment,

You connected and engaged,

Always present,

Always now,

Noticing the sensations of the body and your experience of being present and available,

What does that feel like,

With a few more breaths,

If everything's been filed,

And slowly bring your awareness back to this moment,

When you're ready,

You can open back your eyes,

Come on back.
