
Introduction To Thought Process Meditations
In this introductory talk, Eshu shares the framework and background for his sessions that address problematic patterns of thought that affect many people, operate at subconscious depths, and are at the root of many manifestations of human suffering. Listeners will gain a foundational understanding of Eshu's approach to addressing these patterns, and how, through deep meditation, you'll begin to shift the patterns - literally re-programming and updating your subconscious software. The sessions of this series will come in pairs, each with a preparatory session, and an active meditation session.

Welcome,
And thank you for beginning this series of trance work sessions that I've crafted for you,
For the purpose of exploring,
Unraveling,
And updating old and problematic subconscious thought patterns that have been holding you back from living your life well and fully.
It's my intention to support you in stepping more fully into your life,
So that you can experience what it means to be fully manifesting the deepest purpose that you were born to share with our world.
My name is Eshu,
And I'll be your guide as we explore these patterns and habits of your deep subconscious mind together.
I'm offering these sessions as downloadable recordings,
Because over the years I've found that while each and every person I've ever met is utterly unique and is living a life like no other,
I've observed that there are also a handful of very common,
Problematic subconscious thought patterns that reveal themselves over and over again as being somehow involved in,
And often at the very root,
Of so many experiences of suffering.
I've found that almost everyone,
During times of stress or struggle,
Has at least some experience with expressions of each of these habits or patterns,
And when several of these patterns interact and interweave,
We can really suffer.
Before we begin,
I'd like you to know that you can listen to each of these sessions as often as you like.
They'll never wear out or become less effective.
In fact,
The more often you listen to these sessions,
The more deeply new and amazing ways of thinking and feeling will take root.
Naturally,
Some of the sessions will feel more important and impactful for you than others.
I've found that most people are challenged by just a few of these patterns more than others.
At times,
These subconscious thought patterns might seem to fade into the background,
Or even disappear entirely,
And then may surface again when times are tough and we're really up against it.
And it's in those times that you can remember what you'll have learned,
And return to these sessions again.
You'll find that just by relaxing into these simple processes,
What I'm sharing will help you unravel problematic patterns and habits of subconscious thought,
And offer your subconscious mind new and much more beneficial ways to perceive and interpret your everyday experiences,
Which will lead to more effective interactions and relationships with yourself,
With people you care about,
And with the world around you.
I fully expect that you'll find many of these processes totally transformative.
You'll develop a better understanding about the nature of your mind,
And how your old habits and patterns of thinking that often began in the distant past,
And lie hidden deep in your subconscious mind,
Have been subtly weaving themselves into the events of your everyday life,
Even today,
In ways that have given rise to all kinds of trouble,
Stress,
Anxiety,
Frustration,
Disappointment,
And despair,
And how,
Through trance work,
You can begin to update those obsolete subconscious programs,
And vastly increase the ease and enjoyment of your life.
I want to be clear that none of these processes are intended to replace or be a substitute for doing your own real-time personal work,
Supported by one or more competent and experienced guides.
It's my hope that these sessions will be resources for learning,
Support,
And transformation for you,
And even so,
They're not intended to be the only support that you access when,
At times,
You're struggling.
Because these sessions are recorded,
I've had to make them more generalized in nature than they'd be if I were working with you directly.
Because they aren't live,
I can't really take into account your unique life and experience,
So these sessions just can't be as precise and accurate as individualized,
One-to-one trance work sessions are.
So,
If engaging with these recorded sessions is the starting point of your inner journey,
Well then first,
I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your transformational journey starting out,
And I also really want to encourage you to engage personally with a skilled and qualified guide and to continue your journey deeper,
Far beyond even the scope of these sessions.
Now,
Before I go any further,
I'm obliged to offer a few important guidelines for safety and to ensure that you get the most out of these sessions.
So first,
I want to be really clear,
When you're listening to and experiencing any trance work session,
Please be sure to give it your full attention.
Definitely don't listen to these sessions when you're driving or if you need to be engaged with your surroundings or other responsibilities,
Even in a passive way.
The single biggest factor in how impactful these sessions will be is how fully you choose to engage with them.
You'll get the best results when you simply sit or recline comfortably in a quiet,
Undisturbed,
And safe place where you can focus completely on what you're hearing,
While your subconscious mind absorbs and integrates the potent messages that I've woven into each of your sessions on many different levels.
Our subconscious minds are incredibly powerful,
And they're very efficient.
From the time we're very young,
When we experience something difficult or new or unknown,
In order for us to survive,
Our subconscious mind set into motion a reaction pattern based on our understanding and interpretation of that situation,
And based on our knowledge,
Skill set,
Emotional capacity,
And lived experience at the time and in the place of that experience.
And if our reaction generated a result that we interpreted as positive,
If it improved the situation in any way,
Even slightly,
The subconscious mind locks onto that reaction and makes it into THE reaction,
So that any time we're in a similar situation,
Or any time we have a similar feeling,
It simply skips the trouble of thinking or choosing,
And we'll just react in the very same way that we did the first time,
Because it worked.
The difficulty is that,
For many of us,
We began to experience adverse or even traumatic life events when we were young children.
And when we're young,
We're often not able to understand the full context of our experiences.
We haven't yet fully developed physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally,
Or spiritually.
And when you're young,
You're just beginning to develop a sense of being a self.
And developmentally,
This means that as a child,
It's just a fact that we're naturally egocentric.
And I don't mean that in any kind of negative way.
What I mean is that we see the whole world and every experience through the lens of our developing self,
Most often believing that whenever something bad happens,
Or when somebody is neglectful or unkind or even cruel to me,
Then it must be because I did something wrong,
Or I didn't do something well enough,
Or even that it's because there's just something fundamentally wrong with me,
That I was somehow born broken,
That I'm just too stupid or too ugly or too careless to be worthy of attention,
Worthy of space or recognition,
To be worthy of love.
Just a few of the most common initiators of these persistent reactions might be dysfunctional,
Abusive,
Neglectful,
Or just plain unskillful relationships with parental figures or others during our childhood.
Or they might arise from the loss of significant relationship attachments through death,
Separation,
Divorce,
Isolation,
Neglect,
Or abandonment.
Or any other serious blows to your sense of security or self-esteem.
And it's also often the case that reactive patterns are set into motion not by what happened to you,
But rather what didn't happen for you.
For example,
An absence of reliable,
Safe,
Stable environments,
And secure,
Nurturing attachments with loving parental adults.
Any and all of these can lead to foundational existential beliefs and reaction patterns that are rooted in insecurity,
Disconnection,
And feelings of being somehow fundamentally undeserving or unworthy.
And these old reaction patterns may at times be re-experienced in the present,
When they're triggered into motion by thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations,
Environments,
Relationship dynamics,
Or experiences that in some way echo or are resonant with our earlier adverse experiences.
And our old reaction patterns can manifest in the here and now as overt behavior in our relationships and environments.
But even more often,
They're experienced as over-generalized and universally applied internal perspectives,
Beliefs,
And feelings about ourselves,
About others,
About the world,
Or even about existence itself that severely limit a person's ability to perceive experiences in the present honestly and accurately,
To think clearly and creatively,
To choose freely,
And to solve problems in new ways.
So,
To sum it all up,
Our subconscious thought and reaction patterns are most commonly born as improvised solutions at very early stages of our development and in very specific contexts to help us survive stressful,
Threatening,
And painful life experiences.
And that's a very good thing.
Really,
It's almost miraculous that you were able to figure out how to get through some of what you experienced when you were so young.
Those improvised thought and habit patterns have helped you to survive.
The simple fact that you're still here is evidence of that,
Is it not?
The trouble is,
Our subconscious mind doesn't automatically recognize the passage of time and adapt to it,
Or to changes in our environment,
In our relationships,
Or even the development of our bodies.
And so,
Our subconscious mind continues to run these old patterns even though they may now be woefully inappropriate,
Unskillful,
Out of context,
And significantly out of date.
You know,
When I was a kid,
I got my first computer.
I remember it was a Tandy Coco 2 in 1983.
And I wonder if you can imagine,
If I were to get a new computer every single year from 1983 until today,
How effective would I be?
How well could I do my work?
How inefficient would my communication be if I was still trying to run the operating system,
Programs,
And software that came with my Coco 2 on a brand-spanking-new MacBook Pro?
Because every day is a new day.
And every day,
The world,
Your body,
Your relationships,
And your work are changing.
They're upgrading.
And frankly,
I'm often amazed by how well many people have done in their lives even though they're still running very old programs.
And I'm genuinely inspired to consider the incredible opportunities that will open up for you just by bringing your subconscious mind up to date with where and who you are today.
And through trance work,
Just by experiencing these sessions,
You've got a fantastic opportunity to refresh,
Renew,
And update your subconscious software.
And here what I mean is the interpretations,
Understandings,
And responses that underlie and shape virtually every aspect of your life,
Your thoughts,
Your feelings,
Your relationships,
Your work,
And much,
Much more.
Now,
I don't know whether you've had any previous experience with trance work yet.
So if you have some experience with non-ordinary states of consciousness,
Either through meditation,
Or drum journey work,
Or hypnosis,
Or ceremony,
Then please use these sessions as a tool or resource for focusing and relaxing,
An opportunity for setting aside all the demands and pressures of your everyday life,
A way for you to spend a little bit of time with yourself in a way that's easy and comfortable.
And if you've never experienced trance work before,
Then welcome.
I know you're going to enjoy this.
And you may be surprised by how something that feels so wonderful and relaxing can open the door to new perspectives and possibilities,
Possibilities that become realities in a way that feels so natural,
Almost automatic.
During each of these trance work sessions,
I'll guide you into a deeper state of relaxation,
A non-ordinary state of consciousness.
And I'll be offering and exploring different ideas and different possibilities with your deep subconscious mind.
And there really isn't anything that you have to do.
There's no effort required.
You don't have to say anything.
You don't have to do anything.
The only thing I ask of you is that you allow yourself the luxury of finding yourself a comfortable place to sit or recline,
Making sure that you're not distracted by anything or anybody.
So please let anyone you need to know not to disturb you for a little while.
Good quality headphones are something I can highly recommend.
Remember to turn off any and all device notifications so that you can be completely comfortable and close your eyes and focus on the possibilities for powerful,
Positive transformation that these sessions offer.
Trance work isn't something you make happen.
It's something you just allow to happen.
You'll hear and understand everything I say,
And you'll still be passively aware of your surroundings.
So if something genuinely requires your urgent attention in the middle of a session,
Naturally you can sit up and open your eyes and go take care of it,
Returning to the session whenever it's appropriate to do so.
And even if you were to completely fall asleep while listening to a session,
Your subconscious mind is still aware and hearing what I'm saying.
Besides,
You know that you own this recording,
So you can listen to it again as often as you like,
And I hope and I recommend that you do,
Because the ideas and possibilities I'm offering in these sessions are always supportive and reinforce positive growth and transformation.
You are completely in control of what you experience.
That's really the whole idea of doing trance work in the first place.
It's an ancient and reliable way of increasing the amount of awareness,
Discernment,
And control that you have over your thoughts,
Over your feelings,
And over your behaviors.
So when you're truly ready to upgrade,
When you're ready to start the transformation that you've already been thinking about for so long,
