This is a 10-minute Mindfulness practice in which I welcome you to a Beautiful Transylvanian Forest. In the meditation, I gently remind you that Peace lives within you and that you can access it at any time. I also bring things back to basics, allowing you to simplify your day and remember that we are all in this together. No pressure to relax. No pressure to get it right. Just a quiet invitation to be real with yourself. Headphones can enhance the experience, but not essential. Narrated by Stephen Dalton — voiceover artist & meditation guide.

Hello my friend,

Welcome to your meditation.

My name is Stephen Dalton,

And it's my great privilege to meditate with you today.

You find me today in a peace-filled forest in Transylvania.

If you want to,

You can close your eyes now.

Or indeed,

You can keep witnessing the beautiful landscape that I am sitting in.

Allow me to begin.

You know,

Sometimes in this life,

We just need to take a break.

The world can be overwhelming,

And we can forget,

When we are in the noise,

That inside of us,

Peace is constantly alive.

It's just waiting to be found.

So,

Allow me today to guide you to a peaceful and safe place.

Become aware of your breath,

As it enters and leaves your body.

Just notice it.

And as you continue to notice your breath,

Allow me to speak.

Know this,

Meditation is not about finding some thought-free land.

It is about getting to a place where we can see our thoughts for what they are.

Just thoughts,

Coming and going.

So,

As you notice your breath,

Also notice your thoughts.

As they arrive,

And as they leave.

If and when thoughts arrive,

Allow them to gently dissolve and watch them float away,

Like clouds passing through a clear blue sky.

And come back to noticing the breath.

Become very curious about the breath if you want to.

Where does it start?

Where does it end?

It meets your nose,

Perhaps?

It enters into your body?

Maybe you feel your belly or your chest rise?

And then you let it go.

Just notice.

It helps sometimes to notice the sounds around you too.

Or indeed,

You can listen to the sounds that surround me.

Becoming aware of sounds grounds us in the present.

The sounds aren't happening in the future or the past.

They are happening now.

So,

While you notice your breath,

Notice the sounds too.

Were you thinking?

Good,

Either way.

No judgment here.

All we are doing is noticing.

And if you noticed the fact that you were thinking,

Well,

That's part of the process.

Now,

As we bring this meditation to a close,

I want to share one small thing.

We started this meditation talking about finding the peace within you.

When we are more aware of our thoughts,

We can be led by them less.

And they will affect our moods and emotions less.

So,

I hope that today I have led you away from your thought life,

Even a little.

And perhaps a little closer to your inner,

Soul-filled,

Beautifully instinctual life.

Until next time,

My friend,

I wish you peace.

If you have enjoyed this meditation,

Please don't forget to share it,

Hit the like button.

And I'd love to hear from you.

If you could,

Write one kind word in the comments,

Or a few if you like,

For whoever might read them,

So you can pass on a message of hope,

A message of kindness to someone else.

Thank you.

Your voice always gives me hope. And brings my highly sensitive nervous system down a few notches. Thank you so much.

After my hanna’s leaving after 26 years I’m in some considerable distress at the moment. I also have tinnitus rather badly. I came across one of your “Boring” stories on Youtube which really helped me to sleep. This, waking start is so gentle. You guided me from my spinning thoughts & confusion into listening intensely & remarkably picking out a crow and being in the moment. You are very calming and comforting. A real balm for the soul. Thank you so much. ☺️ 🙏

Wonderful! Stephen, you have been sending me off to sleep every night since I found you a couple of months ago, but this is the first time that I have begun my day with you 🌼. This meditation was a lovely, gentle way to ease into my day. I loved everything about it and will be coming back to it again. Thank you.
