You know how sometimes you just want to let go of your day and try to find some stillness…this practice is an invitation to find some ease. Thoughts about your day may come up and we don’t have to push those away but rather can make more space as needed. Be gentle and non-judgmental with yourself as you go through this practice. Every day is a new day and making some space to release what didn’t serve you is a helpful tool to bring in more confidence for the next day ahead. Music: Autumn Sky Meditation by NaturesEye

Hi,

This is Stephanie Boxerbaum.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today.

For today's practice,

We're going to be doing a releasing the day practice.

You know how sometimes after you've had a long day,

Whether you've been working or whatever you've been doing,

You want to just have that feeling of like sinking into like a really comfortable couch where you feel comfortable and at ease and just letting everything go.

So we're going to try to do that for today's practice.

And this is not so much about kind of ignoring anything that may be going on or challenges or just avoidance and pretending everything's totally fine.

I'm a big believer that we can address anything going on at any time.

And we can also practice a sense of ease when we need it.

So that's really what this practice is about is kind of just being that comforting blanket that everything's going to be okay,

Energy,

This idea that we can release whatever is bothering us or got to us at any given day,

And really coming back to this place of center.

So this practice is really going to be an invitation to sense into what it feels like to be grounded and coming back to the space in yourself that feels joyful or at ease or comfortable.

Really,

You can insert whatever word you want.

But it's really about kind of that,

How do I kind of touch back into that part that's like,

Oh,

Yeah,

I'm enough as is,

I've got this,

I'm good.

I can let go of what happened today.

That's what we're really practicing here.

So on that note,

Finding a gentle and easy seat,

Whatever that feels like for you today,

It could be doing some mindful walking.

Depending on what time zone you're in,

Maybe you're getting ready to head off to bed.

So you want to get really comfortable.

Just finding whatever feels good to you.

And taking a gentle deep breath in.

And a long exhale out.

And doing that once more deep inhale in and a long exhale out.

And allowing yourself and the body a beginning.

A beginning in the sense of letting your energy begin to settle.

There's no need to fix or change anything,

We are simply allowing ourselves to exist as we are right here in this moment.

The mind will have thoughts,

The mind will wander.

And that's okay.

We just simply keep bringing ourselves back to center.

And the center can be whatever you'd like.

So maybe today the center feels like the breath.

Or perhaps it's a different anchor,

Sound,

Or a place on the body.

But the idea here is just to kind of allow ourselves to just be as we are.

Simply breathing in,

Simply breathing out,

And releasing the day.

Not going back into the stories of the day,

Releasing the day.

And maybe releasing for you isn't even a concept yet really.

Like how do we learn to let go of anything?

And that's okay too.

This practice is about going inward and checking in.

How does it feel when we say release the day?

Can you practice letting go?

So I'll watch our time here for these next few minutes.

And we're just going to breathe.

Allowing the mind and the body to settle.

Nowhere else to go,

Nowhere else to be,

Nothing to solve,

Nothing to check off the to-do list.

This is a place and space for calm and peace that's just yours and it's different for everyone.

So taking a gentle breath in and a deep breath out.

And we'll just sit quietly here for these next few minutes.

There'll be music playing and just allowing yourself to breathe,

Allowing yourself to come back to center.

On this next inhale in and a deep exhale out.

We're going to practice with the phrase,

Releasing the day.

So I invite you silently to repeat this phrase in your mind at whatever cadence you need to.

Just releasing the day.

And see how that feels,

Where you feel it in your body,

Where you feel the tension letting go.

And knowing that the mind will think because that's what the mind does.

So if you have thoughts of your boss or thoughts of a challenging situation or your co-worker or whatever the case may be,

Come back to that center place,

Releasing the day.

As the idea here is if we can cultivate this energy or we can begin to recognize,

Huh,

Okay,

When I'm releasing the day,

This is sort of how it settles in my body.

It's how it feels.

And we can begin to do it on a daily basis.

And we kind of start to really sense into what it feels like.

And it's something that only you know.

It's not meant to be a prescribed feeling that someone else can tell you how to get there.

You may do this meditation one time you may do it 100 times.

But over time,

With this idea of releasing the day of not holding on to stress to challenge,

Because there's going to be another day tomorrow,

Right?

And that's something that we all know,

Hopefully,

And we want to be able to let things go.

Doesn't mean that you can't pick it back up.

It's just a helpful tool to know what letting go and releasing the day feels like.

So we'll get quiet for these next few minutes.

And again,

The invitation is to simply say the phrase silently to yourself releasing the day,

Releasing the day and that may bring up releasing other things too.

And that's okay.

But we still want to come back to that we are releasing whatever's been going on with us that day,

To find our center to find the calm to find the ease.

Just allowing yourself to be exactly as you are in this moment.

Taking a deep inhale in and a gentle exhale out.

And doing that once more deep inhale in and gentle exhale out.

Beginning to maybe rub your hands together,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Coming back to your surroundings.

And as always,

I share the reminder that you are always enough as is.

And when you're ready,

Gently opening your eyes.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today and I hope to be meditating again with you soon.
