Today I want to tap on the overwhelm of work.
It can be the feeling of overwhelm knowing the work that you're going to walk into.
It can just be overwhelmed from your job in general.
Maybe you have more than one job and that is overwhelming to you.
As an entrepreneur when I have work that is pending for my clients that causes overwhelm to me because I don't like to make people wait but I also know that I want to produce quality work so I don't want to rush what I'm doing.
So just thinking about where you feel that in your body.
Does your chest feel tight when you think about going to work or does it feel tight about all the work you have to do?
Do you feel tension in your forehead,
In your eyebrows?
Do you end up wearing your shoulders as earrings by the end of the day because you just feel so overwhelmed?
Does work feel heavy to you?
Think about where you feel it.
If you feel it in your body or if you just hold it in your mind.
Any emotions that come up along with that overwhelm and on a scale of 0 to 10,
0 being I'm not overwhelmed I just want to tap and 10 being I'm so overwhelmed I don't know what the next step is.
Just sit with yourself for a minute take a deep breath.
Breathe in for four one two three four hold for two one and breathe out six five four three two one.
Just take a minute to think about the work that you are doing,
The work that you have pending,
Just work in general.
How overwhelmed do you feel?
What part of your job makes you feel the most overwhelmed?
Just thinking about that we'll start tapping.
Please make sure that if any of the wording that I say does not apply for you you're welcome to change it.
Tailor the tapping script so that it really applies to you so that what we are tapping on really resonates with you and that helps you to release some of these stuck emotions or any of the anger,
The overwhelm,
The frustration that we are feeling.
So we'll start with the side of the hand just tapping gently and repeat after me either out loud or in your mind.
Even though I'm so overwhelmed by work I'm open to releasing a little bit of that overwhelm today.
Even though I am so overwhelmed by the work that I have to do I am open to honoring the way that I feel right now.
Even though I can't handle all of this work it's too much.
I acknowledge the way that I feel right now and I am open to finding solutions to lightening my workload.
Eyebrow point I'm so overwhelmed with work.
Side of the eye there's too much to do in one day.
Under the eye we don't have enough staff.
Under the nose I don't have enough hours in the day.
Under the lip it's weighing so heavy on me.
Collarbone it's causing all this tension in my chest.
Under the arm it's causing all this tension in my head.
Top of the head I feel like by the end of the day I wear my shoulders as earrings.
Eyebrow point I'm so tense.
Side of the eye it's so hard to get motivated for work.
Under the eye all this work is just piling up.
Under the nose I don't even know where to start.
Under the lip it's exhausting just thinking about it.
Collarbone can I be open to making a priority list about my work?
Under the arm but that's one more thing that I have to get done.
Top of the head but can it help me to get organized and help me to figure out where to start?
Eyebrow point releasing a little bit of this tension.
Side of the eye allowing myself to breathe a little deeper right now.
Under the eye knowing that I am capable of getting work done.
Under the nose and even if I don't get it all done today under the lip that means there will be work for me tomorrow or next week.
Collarbone I am capable.
Under the arm releasing some of this overwhelm just a little more.
Top of the head coming into my job with a clear head.
Eyebrow point will allow me to have a better place to start from.
Side of the eye having a clearer head about my work.
Under the eye will allow me to see what is highest priority and what can get done a little bit later.
Under the nose I am open to going with the flow of my workday.
Under the lip releasing the overwhelm just a little bit more.
Collarbone I am open to asking for help.
Under the arm I am open to taking small breaks throughout the day.
Top of the head I am open to taking that vacation day.
Eyebrow point releasing a little bit more of this work overwhelm now.
Side of the eye maybe I don't need to get it all done today.
Under the eye but I am open to doing my best today.
Under the nose I'm open to celebrating my small wins today.
Under the lip I'm open to being gentle with myself today.
Collarbone my mental health is the most important.
Under the arm releasing some more of this overwhelm now.
Top of the head allowing my day to flow with ease and grace.
Eyebrow point looking for the little ways that I can find joy in my workday.
Eyebrow point maybe I can share a funny meme with a co-worker or a friend.
Under the eye maybe on my lunch break I can take a walk or sit outside.
Under the nose I am open to reviewing that to-do list Under the lip I review it with a clear head and a neutral mindset.
Collarbone I'm going to do my best with my work today.
Under the arm I am only one person.
Top of the head I've got this.
I honor the way that I feel.
I honor how capable I am of the work that I am doing and I honor myself for taking time for me today.
Take another deep breath you can stop tapping.
Breathe in for four one two three four hold for two one breathe out six five four three two one.
Hopefully you're feeling a little less overwhelmed and that you can move forward with a clear head.
When we're stressed out it really makes it hard to come to a neutral standpoint and see what needs to get done and try to keep in mind that if you have work that you will have to do tomorrow or next week and ask yourself if you can be grateful that you will have work to do.
You know that you have something to come into that you will be able to keep yourself busy but understand you are only one person and your best is good enough.
