Thank you for joining me for this guided meditation of warming up to spring.
Please enjoy this meditation comfortably seated or lying down.
Allow your breathing to become slower at a pace that is comfortable and natural for you.
Nothing is forced here.
Let's imagine together that we are sitting on a comfortable sofa.
The sofa is your favorite color sofa and the sofa is right in front of a beautiful large bay window.
Outside the window you can see rolling hills.
You can also see the beautifully freshly fallen snow.
It sparkles in the sunlight.
It's a lazy afternoon.
You have nowhere to be but right here.
You've just sat down with your favorite drink.
If it's a warm drink,
Imagine feeling the mug in your hands.
The warmth of the drink is pleasant but not too hot.
If it's a cool drink,
You can feel the cool cup in your hands.
Again,
It is a very comfortable cool.
If you like,
You can keep holding your drink or you can set it down on a table next to the sofa or in the bay window.
As you sit back on your favorite side of the sofa,
Maybe you're wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
You're so comfortable.
The weight of the blanket is the most soothing weight to you.
The texture is light and fluffy.
You can see the sparkles of snow as you look outside.
Out through the large bay window behind the sofa.
On the other side of you is a crackling fire.
The fire is not too hot.
Just warm enough to warm the room around you comfortably.
As you sip your drink,
Pause to inhale the scent.
What does that scent of your drink remind you of?
Sip your drink slowly and really take the time to savor the flavor of it.
Right now,
All you have to do is be here.
Breathing naturally,
Feeling comfortable,
Lounging on a sofa,
Wrapped in a blanket if you'd like.
You are able to relax,
To sit,
To sip.
Maybe you've got a book sitting on the windowsill,
Waiting to be read.
When the time is right,
You'll pick it up and start reading.
Right now,
Allow yourself to be comfortable and happy.
Right now,
You can take your time.
Right now,
You can just be here.
If you'd like,
You can close your eyes and drift away.
If you'd like,
You can close your eyes and drift off to a beautiful nap.
As you look out the window,
You can see the trees gently swaying in the breeze.
The snow is being shaken off the branches and it falls in sparkling swirls,
As if the earth is being covered in beautiful frozen glitter.
Take your time here and just watch the snow,
Visualize the snow falling from the trees.
How does it make you feel?
Can you allow yourself to relax just a little bit more here?
If any thoughts come up,
Can you allow them to just drift on by?
Can you allow any tension to melt away like the snow that's melting in the sun?
We know that spring is on its way.
The earth is beginning to wake up.
The snow will eventually melt and the flowers will begin to bud and blossom.
Right now,
Nature is moving at its own pace.
Spring will arrive.
Nothing is rushed.
Can you think of what you are grateful for from the past winter?
Have you learned anything?
Can you be grateful for what the cooler weather and darkness has given to you?
Did it give you more time with your family?
Did it give you more time to contemplate slowing down and practicing more self-care?
Were there any gifts bestowed upon you this past winter?
Spring is upon us.
In the earth will warm up.
The days have already started getting longer.
The days have already started getting lighter.
Right now,
Are you allowing yourself to move at your own natural pace?
Right now,
Can you believe that you are where you are supposed to be?
Can you be open to the fact that the opportunities that are meant for you will not pass you by?
Right now,
Can you be open to being peaceful and taking your time?
Really enjoy the journey that you are on.
If you'd like to sit here and visualize the beautiful snowy hills and the crackling fire,
You are welcome to stay.
When you are ready,
Start to bring motion to your hands and your feet.
Open your eyes slowly and bring yourself back to whatever room you are in.
I am grateful for the time that we spent together,
And I hope that you can carry the peace of this meditation throughout your day.
