This morning practice can significantly benefit you if you have ADHD by helping you develop a deep sense of gratitude and mindfulness through your five senses. By focusing on and appreciating each sense, you can anchor your attention in the present moment, which helps to reduce mental clutter and the tendency for your mind to wander. This mindful attention can quiet your racing thoughts and provide clarity, allowing you to manage distractions and impulsivity more effectively, leading to a calmer and more focused you. Finding yourself a comfortable seated position with the spine nice and long perhaps lifting the shoulders and rolling them back and down releasing out any tension you're holding in your jaw bringing the awareness to the sensations of the body breathing noticing where you can feel the breath perhaps you feel it in the chest the abdomen or maybe you feel the breath coming in and out of the nostrils taking a moment to allow the mind to settle into this moment focusing on the body and the breath and it's perfectly natural for the mind to wander it is the job of the mind to have thoughts and we're beginning to train our mind and when the mind wanders into those thoughts bringing the awareness back to the breath and the body and watching the breath coming and going going through each sense the sight,

Smell,

Taste,

Hearing and touch beginning with the sight a gratitude for the eyes the things we can see and smell a thank you for my sense of smell for the delicious food I can smell the flowers and the aromas and the taste thank you for my taste thinking about the gift of taste that it brings to you and appreciate these gifts and hearing thank you for my hearing maybe recognizing that the sense of hearing has allowed you to hear the voice of a loved one a bird singing in a tree a bird singing in a tree and touch the sense of touch that has allowed you to feel all the things you touch on a daily basis a thank you body thank you body or when you're ready and gently open the eyes
