Welcome to your sacral chakra.
Meditation.
I want you to start to get comfortable.
If you're lying down,
Let your whole body relax and become comfortable.
If you're sitting,
Then relax your hands on your lap or at your side.
Whatever way feels most natural to you.
You may close your eyes.
This is your time now,
So leave all of your worries at the door.
Notice any sounds outside of the room.
Acknowledge them and let them go.
Notice any sounds inside of the room.
Acknowledge them and let them go.
Tell your body to relax.
Let your feet and legs soften into position.
Drop your shoulders.
Relax your hands.
Tell your face and jaw to relax.
Allow your full body to soften down and relax.
Into a natural position.
Take a cleansing breath in and breathe out the tension in your body.
Allow your breathing to fall into its own natural rhythm,
Not trying to control it in any way.
Just observing as you breathe in relaxation and breathe out tension.
As you breathe in relaxation and breathe out tension.
If thoughts intrude,
Allow them to pass and return your attention to this meditation.
We are going to explore Ujjayi breath,
Which is the breath of the ocean.
To practice Ujjayi breath,
Start by placing one hand on your stomach and one hand on your chest,
So that you can feel the air moving in and out of your lungs.
With your mouth open and relaxed,
Gently and slowly breathe in to fill your abdomen and then fill your chest,
Making sure to keep the back of your throat slightly contracted.
Once you've comfortably filled your lungs with air,
Begin to exhale by slowly letting the air fall out of you in a whispered sigh,
As though you are fogging up a mirror.
Notice it falling first out of your chest and then out of your abdomen.
Make sure to exhale slowly and notice how it feels and sounds as you do.
If done right,
It should sound like faint ocean waves crashing along the shore.
Your breath is like the ocean,
Ebbing and flowing.
Recognize how your breath sounds just like the ocean.
The water ebbing and flowing against the shoreline.
Now slowly begin to visualize a large orange fruit right below your navel.
It can be sweet or sour.
Because our sacral chakra is tied to our sense of taste,
Let's indulge a bit.
Imagine the delicious juice inside this orange.
Imagine the taste filling your mouth.
Really taste the flavors of this beautiful succulent orange.
Now bringing your attention back to the orange fruit,
Right below your navel.
Let the orange grow and the details grow blurry.
You cannot see the orange clearly any longer.
Instead you watch as the bright color slowly dissipates into an ocean.
Turning the light waves orange and bright just like the sun.
Watch as this ocean gently begins to spread throughout your body.
Feel the waves run down your thighs,
Into your calves and all the way down to your toes.
Watch as the gust of water rushes up your spine and begins to fill every inch of skin.
It runs down your arms,
Fingers and up all the way to your head.
Feel the sweet taste of the water once more flood your mouth.
The water flows warm.
The waves have your back.
You are free like the ocean within you.
You are free.
You are free.
Focusing on your ever-glowing sacral chakra,
Repeat the following affirmations either out loud or in your head and fill them with conviction,
Embody them,
Believe them.
I am creative and joyful.
I celebrate my sexuality.
It is safe for me to express my sexuality.
I deserve to enjoy life.
I express my emotions in a healthy manner.
I am in harmony with myself.
I am in touch with my feelings.
I allow myself to be intimate.
With my feelings,
With my pleasure,
With my relationships,
With my creative essence,
I am in harmony with myself.
I listen to my sacred body and give it all that it needs.
I am in harmony with my relationships,
With my creative essence,
With myself.
Our sacral chakra is like water.
Water is fluid,
Soft and yielding.
But water will wear away rock which is rigid and cannot yield.
As a rule,
Whatever is fluid,
Soft and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard.
This is another paradox.
What is soft is strong.
So dance with the waves of your emotions.
Move with the tides of the sea.
Let the rhythm of water set your creativity and sexuality free.
Now start to bring your awareness back to the flow of your breath.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
Feel the cool breath in your nose and your throat.
Notice the natural movement of your tummy as you breathe.
In and out.
Be aware of your full body as it rests against the floor or seat.
Now bring your attention to your toes and start to give them a little wiggle.
Then to your fingers and give them a little wiggle.
Give your shoulders a little shrug.
Slowly let yourself be aware of the room again,
Of all the sounds close by.
And when you feel ready to,
You can open your eyes.
You can open your eyes.
You can open your eyes.
You can open your eyes.
