You don’t need to earn rest. This meditation is a short reset for releasing guilt, powering down the inner pressure, and actually letting yourself unwind. No productivity reframes. No fixing. Just a few minutes to step out of “should” and into real rest — the kind that restores instead of nags.

Hi,

This is Sarah and this is a very important soul vitamins meditation.

It's all about releasing guilt when you're not busy.

Please get yourself into a comfortable seated position.

Wiggle around a little bit,

Get comfortable,

Put your hands in a place that feels natural and good and please close your eyes.

By choosing to do this relaxation technique right now,

You are doing a healthy,

Productive activity.

This relaxation is essential and will allow you to be even more productive by reducing stress and becoming more efficient.

You need this time of relaxation.

You deserve it.

Relaxation is a basic skill that helps you to survive and be healthy.

Take a moment just to breathe.

Be here,

Be present.

Breathe slowly and calmly.

Focus on this single act of breathing.

Such a simple act,

But essential to life.

Just breathe,

My sweet friend.

Perhaps you're having thoughts right now about other things you should be doing.

Acknowledge these thoughts.

Consider what type of tasks,

Activities,

And demands are going through your mind right now.

If you're feeling an extraordinary amount of stress and your to-do list is gigantic,

You may want to pause this meditation and actually write down a list of the things that you feel compelled to do.

Whether you are writing them down or you're thinking about them,

I want you to focus and acknowledge the thoughts that come up over the next few minutes.

What are those things that are popping up?

What sort of tasks,

Activities,

And demands keep coming up for you?

Think about those.

Sit quietly and reflect upon the thoughts that have been coming up.

Do you notice any patterns?

Allow each thought to pass without dwelling on any particular one.

Let each come and go and notice these thoughts as an observer.

As you meditate here,

What kind of thoughts and judgments do you have about yourself and all of the time demands that you have?

Notice the should statements.

Notice the criticisms.

Notice the judgmental thoughts that you're telling yourself.

Notice that you're telling yourself how busy you are.

Would you expect any other human being to be productive at every moment?

How could such an expectation be fair or reasonable for any human?

The expectation to be busy at every moment is not realistic or fair for anyone,

Including you.

You do not need to be busy at every moment.

You are not busy at every moment,

And that is okay.

You deserve time to relax.

You deserve to not be busy.

It is okay to relax.

It's okay to be not busy.

Here's the thing.

You are more productive when you take time for relaxation.

You can accomplish everything that you need to.

There's no need to push yourself to be superhuman.

Just being is enough.

It feels good to relax.

You can enjoy relaxation.

You can enjoy times of doing nothing and feel good about taking a few moments to do nothing at all.

It's truly an investment in your health,

In your sanity,

And in your productivity.

Take a few more deep breaths here,

Breathing in the acceptance of rest and relaxation,

Breathing out the judgment and the shoulds.

Now it's time to open your eyes and come back into the room and take with you the fact that it's okay for you to rest.

It's okay for you to not be going at a crazy pace all day long.

Go easy on yourself,

Friend.

Really helpful to be reminded of the importance and benefits of rest. For some reason hearing someone else tell you is so much more convincing than trying to tell yourself! Thanks so much!
