Invite you to start by finding a comfortable position.
Perhaps it is a position of least discomfort in this moment.
You can choose to be sitting or lying down and perhaps close your eyes if it feels helpful to do so and bring your awareness towards your breath.
Explore the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.
Knowing there's no need to change anything.
Perhaps observe the breath as it flows in and out.
Taking this moment to bring to mind your body.
Not just as a physical form but as a vessel that carries you through every moment of your life.
Acknowledge any feelings you may have about your body in this moment.
Positive,
Negative or perhaps neutral and try to notice them without judgment if you can.
You might like to start by finding a statement of neutrality towards your body.
Perhaps acknowledging statement my body has inherent worth.
My body is deserving of rest and nourishment.
My body is the vessel in which I get to live my life.
My body can either move or rest today.
Both are acceptable.
As we move towards this practice,
Beginning to offer the body some kindness.
Perhaps as you breathe in,
Imagining a warm gentle light,
Filling your heart with love and compassion.
As you exhale,
Perhaps imagining this light flowing from your heart and spreading throughout your entire body.
Down your arms,
Perhaps through your torso,
Down into your legs,
Through the feet.
And perhaps with each breath,
This light of compassion expands,
Filling every cell,
Every muscle,
Every organ and bone with kindness.
Allow this feeling of kindness to embrace any part of your body that feels difficult or uncomfortable.
Perhaps there is an ache,
A feeling of tension,
Or an area that you've struggled to accept.
You might like to imagine breathing into that place within your body,
Sending kindness and warmth and love.
You might choose to inhale compassion,
Exhale any judgment or harshness.
And it might be at this time,
You repeat a few phrases of kindness towards yourself and your body.
May I be kind to my body.
May I offer my body patience and understanding.
May I trust in my body.
Know that it's okay if these feelings are not fully present yet.
The intention is enough.
This small act of turning towards your body with kindness is a powerful step.
Invite you to bring your awareness back again towards your breath if it feels helpful.
And notice how you feel.
Starting to acknowledge a building of a new relationship with your body,
One that is founded on trust and on love.
This small practice is a gift you can give yourself at any time if you need it.
Resting with kindness in the body,
Trusting in your experience.
When you feel ready,
You might choose to gently open your eyes and carry this feeling of compassion with you into your day.
