Hello,

Everyone.

Welcome back to Pure Life Therapy's channel,

Where we explore ways to boost your body,

Mind,

And soul so that you can live the life you've always dreamed of.

Today,

We are diving into a topic that's essential for living your best life,

Confidence.

But we're not just talking about surface level confidence.

Oh,

No,

No,

No.

We are going to learn how to use neuroscience to build it from the inside out.

So here's the thing.

Confidence isn't just about how you feel in the moment.

It's about how your brain processes memories and emotions to create a sense of self-worth.

And the best part is,

You can train your brain to feel more confident,

Just like you'd train any muscle at the gym.

So first things first,

Take a moment,

Grab a notebook or open up your notes app,

And I want you to list three things that you're proud of,

Three achievements,

And three things that bring you joy.

I'll repeat them again.

Three things that you're proud of,

Three achievements,

And three things that bring you joy.

Go ahead.

I'll wait.

Got it?

Great.

Now here's where the neuroscience magic comes in.

When you recall positive memories,

Your brain releases dopamine,

Which is like a little happiness boost.

It also strengthens the neural pathways associated with those memories,

Making it easier for you to feel confident the next time you need it.

So here's the fun part.

Don't just write them down.

Say them out loud.

Yep,

Right now.

Say,

I am proud of myself for this.

I achieved this.

This brings me so much joy.

And when you do this,

You're activating multiple parts of your brain,

The verbal,

The auditory,

The emotional centers.

They all start working together to reinforce your confidence.

And when you reinforce your confidence,

That inner glow starts to come out.

So I'll share one of mine to get us started.

I am proud of building my business from the ground up.

I was 19 when I started it.

I had no idea what I was doing,

And I just hit my 25th year of being a business owner.

I remember the moment I hit my first milestone and thought,

Wow,

I am doing this.

And every time I revisit that memory,

I feel a spark of that same pride,

That same joy,

And it pushes me forward.

Sometimes in life,

There's dark clouds.

They're going to come.

They're going to go.

But when you have a dark cloud and you still have to get up out of bed and take care of your stuff,

How can you make that happen?

By repeating to yourself,

I achieved this.

I am proud of this.

And this brings me joy.

Just keep repeating it.

Put yourself back into that place.

Don't just say it once.

Place yourself back in that moment.

Close your eyes and really feel it.

Where were you standing?

What did it feel like?

Were there any smells in the air?

Were there any sounds around you?

Who was there?

The more vividly you imagine it,

The more vividly you put yourself back into that situation,

The stronger the impact on your brain.

This process is called mental rehearsal,

And it's backed by research and neuroscience to stimulate those parts of your brain all over again.

So here's the challenge.

Every day for the next week,

Revisit your list.

Add to it if you want.

Change it if you want.

You're the boss here.

You're the one with your achievements,

Your proud moments,

And your joys.

Say it out loud.

Claim it.

It is yours.

And notice how it shifts your energy and boosts your confidence over time.

So confidence is like a muscle.

The more you practice,

The stronger it gets.

I love this! Having had a brain injury, I am low on confidence and high on self-analysis which gets in my way of feeling good about myself. I will use this exercise as a teaching bit!
