Take 5 minutes away from your workspace to recalibrate, ground and reset your nervous system. Mindfulness & breathing techniques offer an outlet to relieve built-up stress and tension. This helps the brain to better focus and concentrate, making more rational decisions. These practices also promote compassion and empathy which translate to teamwork and communication in the workplace.

And just taking a little bit of time here to arrive.

Allowing your mind to finish wandering before you ask it to come to stillness.

And start to notice what's happening in your body right now.

How you're breathing.

How you're showing up.

Without attaching any judgement or need to change.

And just bringing some integrity into your spine,

Sitting tall.

While at the same time softening your belly,

Your hands,

Your shoulders,

Your jaw,

Your forehead.

And just start to bring awareness to where your feet come into contact with the earth.

The back of your thighs against the chair or the ground.

We'll start with a cleansing breath.

Taking a deep breath in and exhale with a sigh.

And together we'll take a nice deep inhale into your belly.

Allowing your belly button to expand away from your spine.

Your ribs and your chest.

Pause for a moment.

And exhale slowly through your nose.

Just noticing the breath as it brushes past the tip of your nostrils.

Take another deep breath in all the way into your belly,

Your ribs,

Your chest.

Pause.

This time lengthening the exhalation.

Taking another deep breath all the way into your belly,

Your ribs and your chest.

Pause for a moment here.

And slow exhale,

Making this one even longer than the last.

And we'll take one last deep breath together.

Exhale all the way into your belly,

Noticing the expansion.

Your lower ribs and your chest.

Pause.

This time as you exhale slowly through the nose.

Allowing all of the stagnant energy to leave your body.

Eventually returning to your habitual breath.

And just start to observe any shifts.

And where do you notice these changes?

And your breath is the direct link from your physical body and your nervous system to your conscious mind.

Whenever you're ready,

Opening your eyes,

Preparing to step back out into your day.

I’m so grateful for this quick NS reset! I’m about to go into a hard meeting & had just a few minutes to center myself. This was perfect.
