Wherever you're joining me from today,
You're very welcome.
Let's begin by making sure we're in a comfortable,
Safe space.
Maybe you're sitting,
Maybe you're lying down.
Wherever you are,
Let's take a moment to start to soften the gaze.
Maybe close down the eyes completely.
Place your hands,
One on your heart and one on your belly,
And take a moment now to just check in with your breath.
How does it feel today?
Where do you notice it most in your body?
Our breath is our constant companion.
It tells us so much about how we're feeling and how we're responding to what's going on around us.
And we can harness it to make us feel or respond in different ways.
But for today and for now,
Let's just soften and observe.
Maybe you're noticing your breath most on the tip of your nose as the air is filling up into your lungs.
Maybe you're noticing it in your chest as those lungs are rising beneath your hands.
Or maybe you're feeling it more down in your belly,
Where your breath is flowing right through before it begins its journey back out and into the world.
Have no judgment about what your breath is doing.
Just soften.
Just notice.
Just allow yourself this space,
This time,
This moment.
It's a gift to have this space,
To be able to notice your body and your mind.
And as you're feeling your body move under your breath,
Under your hands,
Maybe you're also aware of the thoughts that are moving through your mind.
Sometimes they come like waves,
Like the breath.
Sometimes they jump and rush through our minds.
And other times they're like a placid stream,
Slowly flowing past.
Whatever your thoughts are doing today,
Again,
Have no judgment.
Maybe with a soft smile,
Just acknowledge them and then let them go.
These thoughts that we have,
They do not define us.
They're just passing through us,
Just like the breath,
Just passing through.
As we start to close up this mindful moment,
Maybe you want to use some space to set an intention for the remainder of your day.
Perhaps your day is just starting and you want to ensure you have an intention as it comes.
Perhaps it's halfway through and you'd like to focus on this for the rest of your day.
Or perhaps you're winding down and you want to set an intention for your evening.
Wherever it is and wherever you are,
Start to imbue your mind and your hands with how you want the remainder of your day to feel.
What intention you want this practice to bring to your body and to your mind.
And start to feel that flow through your hands,
Into your breath,
As you feel your body rise and fall.
Maybe there's a warmth with this word.
Maybe you feel that warmth passing through your hands and to your body below.
As you begin now to come back into the room,
Come back into your space,
Whatever it looks like for you,
Maybe together we can take a breath.
We can inhale in and exhale out.
With a soft smile now,
Give thanks for this moment.
Give thanks for your breath and give thanks for the day.
Have a beautiful day.
Thank you.
Namaste.
