Deep breath in and out.

When your mind is telling you to do more,

Do less.

Come and sit here with yourself,

Taking a few moments of self-care to restore your energy and replenish your mind and heart.

Find a comfortable position,

Whether seated or lying down,

And make any adjustments that you need to feel at home in your body.

Do not adhere to any external demands to sit in your lotus pose or have the perfect straight back.

Ideally,

You just want to put your body in any position that doesn't cause discomfort or pain,

Or that you can keep for the next few minutes.

So when you're ready,

Just arrive in there,

Making friends with your body again if you've been away from it for some time.

Perhaps tuning into the sensations of your body.

Is it telling you something?

Just this minute?

Is it silent and flowing?

Is your breath deep or perhaps a bit shallow today and right now?

And just notice that.

Just be and sit with whatever comes your way.

You're safe and you are anchored.

Deep breath in.

Just noticing the sensations and the play of air as you inhale through your nose at the nostrils.

Can you tune your attention into the cold air that comes in and the warmer air that comes out of your nostrils as you exhale?

Can you become sensitive to the sound of your breath?

Texture,

Movements of your chest and abdomen as you engage into being.

Let yourself be carried by your breath.

Let your breath be the only movement in your body.

There is nowhere to go right now and nothing else to be but yourself.

Pausing and recharging.

This time that you're taking for yourself is very productive.

It's very restorative to pause in this way.

So breathe again.

Surrender your body to whatever surface is holding you.

If you're standing,

The floor underneath your feet.

If you're laying down,

Whatever mattress or floor or cushion is supporting your body.

Can you just stay with the simplicity of that?

Discovering those sensations in your body as a new experience for you.

Breathing again.

Letting go of the weight of your body,

Of the weight on your shoulders.

Of the tension in your brow and temples.

Restoration of your energy.

Call back your energy in your body.

Breathing here.

Finding home whenever you notice that your mind may have shifted to something else.

Re-find that focus on your breath,

On your nostrils.

Sensations in your body,

Supports beneath you.

You are hell.

You're restoring and replenishing yourself.

Take a few more breaths here.

Noticing if you see any subtle changes in your physical sensation.

In the speed of your thoughts.

And emotions.

There is no expectation here.

Just a few minutes of posing,

Self-care.

Now start slowly bringing in some movement into your hands and feet.

Gently awaken your body with kindness.

Regaining just the right amount of energy.

Not sprinting back from 0 to 100,

But allowing yourself to savour these moments of transition.

As you allow yourself,

The whole of you,

To carry yourself again into the world.

Namaste.
