Welcome to the Beliefs Meditation for Sobriety.

My name is Alex and I'm here to guide you today through your beliefs.

Please sit or lie comfortably and gently close your eyes.

Take a slow,

Calming breath.

Feel yourself becoming relaxed,

Supported,

And safe.

Breathe in gently,

And as you breathe out,

Release any tension or stress that you're carrying.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Feel the air as it flows softly in and out.

Notice how calming this simple act can be.

Today we're exploring beliefs.

The things we think are true about ourselves,

Others,

And the world.

Beliefs shape our actions,

Our choices,

And our feelings.

So,

Gently ask yourself,

What do I believe about myself?

Allow your answers to come naturally.

Notice any thoughts or feelings without judgment.

Now,

Think about your beliefs around drinking.

Maybe you believed it made life easier,

Or it helped you cope with problems.

Just notice these beliefs and how they feel to you right now.

Consider where these beliefs might have come from.

Did you learn them from family,

Friends,

Experiences,

Or society?

Again,

Just notice.

There's no need to judge or criticize.

As you're doing this,

Bring to mind one specific belief that no longer serves you.

Imagine now that you can gently let go of that belief that no longer helps you.

Imagine placing these old beliefs down,

Releasing them from your mind and your heart.

Now,

Gently ask yourself,

What would I like to believe instead?

What new beliefs would feel better,

Healthier,

And more supportive for my sobriety and well-being?

What would I like to believe instead?

What new beliefs would feel better,

Healthier,

And more supportive for my sobriety and well-being?

Allow yourself to imagine these new beliefs clearly.

Feel how empowering and comforting they are.

Repeat these words silently to yourself.

I choose to believe in myself.

I choose to believe in myself.

I choose to believe in myself.

Repeat after me.

I choose beliefs that support my growth and sobriety.

I choose beliefs that support my growth and sobriety.

I choose beliefs that support my growth and sobriety.

Feel the strength and comfort that these words provide.

Slowly bring your attention back to the present moment.

Notice your breathing,

Your body,

The sounds around you.

Begin gently moving your fingers and toes,

Stretching lightly if you wish.

And when you're ready,

Softly open your eyes.

Take a moment to thank yourself for exploring your beliefs.

Remember,

You're free to create new beliefs that support your journey toward lasting sobriety.

Namaste.

I love this meditation. It’s been hard for me to find good meditations geared towards strengthening my sobriety and this one is amazing. It’s relaxing and uplifting at the same time. It helps facilitate me finding healthy thought patterns for the rest of my day, rewiring my brain. I highly recommend this meditation for anyone seeking to find or wanting to strengthen their sobriety.
