Good morning,
Welcome to this new day.
This is your morning ritual meditation.
What I love most about this meditation is that over time,
What starts out as intentional and disciplined in practice can turn into instinctual meditative moments that are filled with positivity.
This practice is best done while you're still lying in bed.
So if you are already up and the practice is calling you,
That's okay.
Just find a quiet place and take a seat.
Take a few deep breaths in and out,
Allowing the eyes to remain soft.
The eyes can be open or closed for this meditation,
Your choice.
Feel your body on whatever surface that you are on.
Notice the air on your skin.
Notice the weight of your head.
Notice the sounds in the room.
Take your time here.
This is where we meet the present moment.
And now gently nudge your mind to focus on one thing that you are grateful for.
It can be anything that brings you feelings of joy,
Optimism,
Fulfillment.
Maybe it's something that amuses you.
Something that just brings you a general sense of positivity.
As you allow this image to become more and more clear in your mind,
Drop your attention to your heart space and then start to get curious about the reasons why you are so grateful for this one thing.
If it is a beloved pet,
Maybe it's a sense of loyalty or entertainment.
Or maybe this pet is a source of positive influence on you,
Getting you outside to exercise and take in more sunshine.
If it is a beautiful place,
Maybe this place holds a special place in your heart.
Maybe there are some beautiful memories that you've had here.
Or perhaps it's a place that you're planning on going to in the future and there is a sense of excitement.
Get in touch with any of the positive emotions that are connected to this one thing that you're grateful for.
And then allow these vibrations of positive emotion to flow through your body.
Let the corners of your mouth turn up.
Bring a gentle smile to your face and continue to meditate on this one thing that you're grateful for and the visceral experience that accompanies you in your body.
Meditating on the experience of what it's like to be in a state of gratitude.
As you let this experience of being in a state of gratitude sink in,
Gently say your name to yourself,
Silently and in a warm and caring and loving way,
Repeating your name to yourself as if it is a mantra or a chant.
As you let that sink in,
You can gently let go of the mantra and then bask in the glow of positive resonance.
Take a deep breath in,
Breathing down into your belly and filling up your lungs,
Filling yourself up to your comfortable capacity.
And as you gently sigh the breath out,
Allow your eyes to open.
Letting go of this meditation now and getting ready to begin your day.
Thank you so much for practicing with me this morning.
The more often we brought in our awareness of positive occurrences at the beginning of our day and the positive emotions tied to them,
The more we can build our life around experiencing the beauty that the day brings as it unfolds.
Namaste friends.
