In life,
We go through experiences that leave us feeling hurt,
Moments,
Maybe days or even years where we feel alone,
Rejected,
Unloved,
Unsupported.
Just because it is real doesn't mean it is true.
Just because it is real doesn't mean it's true.
Now,
I invite you to find a comfortable place to be just as you are.
Maybe sitting down,
Laying down or even standing.
Just find a place to be.
Allow yourself to be just as you are,
Right here,
Right now.
Closing your eyes gently if that's comfortable or maybe just softening your gaze as you become more aware of your breath.
Now,
Let's breathe together.
Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Once again,
In through your nose.
One last time,
Inhale through your nose,
Exhale through your mouth.
Now,
I invite you to imagine yourself at the ocean shore.
Cool,
Gentle breeze caresses your skin while the water kisses your feet.
How's the weather?
Is it sunny?
Cloudy?
What do you see?
What do you hear?
Can you feel the sand beneath your feet?
Between your toes?
Now,
In your mind,
I want you to bring attention to your hands.
In them,
Pictures,
Memories of past hurts,
Maybe specific events or maybe a specific face.
What do you see?
Who do you see?
What are you feeling?
What emotions are coming up as you remember these events?
As you remember maybe a specific person or people?
It's okay.
You're safe.
Give yourself permission to feel.
Be one with your feelings,
With your sensations,
With your emotions.
It's okay.
You're safe.
It's okay.
I invite you to,
With loving kindness and compassion,
Look at those pictures one last time.
Acknowledge those memories.
Acknowledge the feelings of pain,
Of hurt.
And when you're ready,
I invite you to place those pictures in the water.
It's okay.
You can do it.
Give yourself permission to let go.
Give yourself permission to be free.
It's okay.
You no longer have to carry the hurt.
You no longer have to carry the pain.
It's okay.
You're doing great.
Let go.
Let go.
Now,
Place your hands above your heart and either whispered or just within yourself.
