Hello and welcome.
My name is Brianna.
I'm so honored and grateful that you're here today to practice with me.
Today's journey will be a yoga nidra,
A journey through the conscious awareness,
This state between sleep and wakefulness,
A space to slip into the cosmos and connect with the universe.
Could you welcome your awareness to the simple truth that you've arrived?
Could you settle into this space in your most luscious state of comfort?
You might wish to gather some props,
Some blankets,
Pillows,
And an eye covering.
You might pause the video for a moment while you gather the things you need to optimize your comfort.
Once you have had a few moments to land back into the space,
To settle into your comfort,
The shape most optimal for you.
This might be in a supine position,
Laying on the back,
Perhaps adding some additional support below the knees.
You might wish to sit in a reclined position with your head tucked back so you can close down through the eyes.
Could you welcome your body to settle into this support,
This space of self-nurture,
And let the support rise to meet you.
Could you feel the weight of the body,
The length of the body,
The soft edges where the air touches the skin.
Imagining you're lying beneath the vast night sky in its endless array of velvet,
The stars shimmering,
A sky that asks nothing from you.
This cosmic space that welcomes you exactly as you are.
Could you sense the natural flow and rhythm of your breath,
Like a quiet planet turning in.
Could you let the outer world recede and your inner sky grow wide with each inhalation expanding the sky and each exhalation a turning inward.
You might notice a deepening,
An expansiveness.
Could you allow that space to become a home for your intention,
To welcome in a simple,
Spacious truth.
This truth that glows like a distant star on the horizon of your awareness.
This might be an intention for today or it could be your sankalpa.
Let it be a true calling from the heart.
Hold your intention softly,
Not tightening around it,
But allowing it to illuminate you from within.
Letting it drift quietly into the quiet awareness of expansion from within.
As this intention or sankalpa expands,
Could you imagine your own being?
A constellation with 61 points,
61 stars scattered across your inner night sky.
And as I call out each point,
Could you imagine visiting each of these stars,
Each of these points as they infuse your intention or sankalpa and bode you into a space of deep cosmic rest.
Let's begin to visit each star one by one.
The center of the forehead,
The center of the forehead,
A bright,
Steady star.
The throat center,
The right shoulder,
Tracing the arc of a comet downward into the right elbow,
The right wrist,
The tip of the right thumb,
Second finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger,
The tips of each of the fingers,
Right wrist,
Right elbow,
Right shoulder.
Imagine this entire right side constellation glowing softly,
Coming back to the throat center again.
The left shoulder,
The mirrored constellation moving down through the left elbow,
The left wrist,
To the tip of the left thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
And little finger.
Each of the tips of the fingers on the left hand,
The left wrist,
The left elbow,
The curvature of the left shoulder,
Coming back to the throat center once more.
The heart center,
Navel center,
A quiet pulsing comet moving through the body.
The right hip,
A downward comet trail to the constellation of the right knee,
The right ankle,
The tip of the toe,
The second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Each of the tips of the toes,
The stars and constellations on the right foot,
The right ankle,
The right knee,
Right hip,
And returning to the center of the navel,
Arcing down the light of the constellation into the left hip,
Left knee,
Left ankle,
To the tip of the left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Each of the tips of the constellations on the left foot,
Left ankle,
Left knee,
Left hip.
Centering back at the navel,
Moving up through the heart center in this luminous axis.
The throat center,
Center of the forehead,
The crown of the head,
The forehead,
Throat center,
The heart,
The center of the navel,
And the pelvic floor,
The grounding root star.
Could you let each point,
Each part of the constellation illuminate fully?
Letting each one glow into your awareness,
This space of rest,
Illuminating your sankalpa with the whole night sky.
Let each piece of the constellation illuminate your intention,
Your sankalpa,
Creating a cosmic connection between the space of your being and the universe.
Welcoming the support of the universe fully within you.
Could you begin to sense the breath with each inhale and exhale?
Could you notice the celestial rhythm,
This breath as patterned,
Ancient,
And effortless?
Could you imagine each inhale as the slow draw of a comet passing near?
And each exhale as the long luminous tail drifting outward.
Inhaling as the comet glides forward.
Exhaling as the tail softens,
Leaving a gentle mark in the sky.
Letting the breath move through you like the comet orbiting,
Circular,
Steady,
And effortless.
Let's take one cleansing breath together here.
Could you draw in two sips of air in through the nostrils?
Exhaling softly and slowly out through the mouth.
Repeating this two more times.
Allow the breath to come back into its natural rhythm.
Imagining above you as an infinite sky.
Deep blues,
Purples,
And a spacious darkness.
Not empty,
But alive with quiet creation.
Stars shimmering.
Dust from forgotten galaxies.
Nebulae blooming in the slow swirling color of the air.
Space bending with each breath and holding you in the tenderness of the universal connection.
You might notice a single comet appearing.
A long arc of silver light drifting over you with complete ease across the lushness of the velvety dark space.
Do follow its motion.
Slow.
And weightless.
Noticing a second comet appear.
Then a third.
And one more at a time until the entire sky becomes illuminated with a gentle river of moving light.
With the comets moving between the space of the constellation.
Some comet tails are bright.
Some faint as whispering snow.
Some moving quickly.
And others drifting by as though they're dreaming.
Let the comets fly in their own direction.
Upward.
Downward.
Into the far distance.
Let their motion clear and widen the inner space.
Imagining your thoughts now as comets.
Brief arcs of light passing through with an opportunity to circle and cycle back again.
Could you imagine yourself floating in this cosmic expanse?
Not separate,
But made of it.
Your body as the constellation.
Gentle,
Luminous,
And quiet.
The breath becoming the orbit.
Circular and expansive.
Your mind becoming the space.
Could you rest in this vastness?
Rest as this vastness.
And as you rest into this vastness.
Could you welcome your sankalpa back?
Back into the space of the heart.
The mind.
And the breath.
It may feel more clear.
More illuminated.
Could you imagine your sankalpa like a star that has drifted into your perfect view?
Could you let it shine softly within you?
Let it be illuminated for your path forward.
Could you begin to sense the body again?
Not as stars.
But as a warm,
Living form.
Could you feel the weight of the limbs?
Could you sense your breath?
Deepening.
The touch of air.
Moving through the body.
The sensation of air on the skin.
Could you sense the ground beneath you?
The pull of gravity.
Surrounding the body.
Imagining the comets slowing their glow.
The stars dimming.
And the sky returning to a quieter stillness.
Just before the break of dawn.
Begin to invite small movements.
Fingers.
Toes.
Wrists.
Ankles.
Awaking the body slowly.
In your own pace.
And when you're feeling very ready.
Could you roll your body softly onto one side?
As though you're turning toward a new horizon.
Resting here for a couple of breaths.
You might wish to keep your eyes closed.
Or your gaze soft.
As you slowly rise.
Bringing the cosmic spaciousness right here into this new moment.
This new opportunity for spaciousness.
As you move through the day.
Or days ahead.
We'll close out today's practice with Aum Shanti.
Drawing on an inhale through the nose or mouth.
Exhaling the sound of Aum.
Proceeded with the word Shanti.
Inhaling.
Aum.
Aum Shanti.
May peace be with you and guide you on your universal journey.
