Greetings and welcome to today's meditation,

The return ceremony,

Giving back what was never yours.

Let us begin by feeling your body supported with your hand on your heart and one hand over wherever your body wants additional support.

Invite in self-energy,

A sense of calm enough or curious enough or even steady enough.

Now,

Act inwardly.

Is there a part of me carrying something that isn't actually mine,

A mood,

A weight,

A belief,

A shame,

A rage,

A vigilance?

Invite one yes,

Just one.

Now ask,

How do I feel towards this part that is carrying this?

Are you feeling open-hearted towards it?

If so,

Just acknowledge that.

Let it know that.

Or are you feeling a little irritation,

Apprehensiveness,

Some fear,

Judgment?

If so,

Then that's a sign that you may need more support for the part.

You may need the support of the part that holds your resourcing,

That part that has calm or has compassion or even curiosity.

So take a deep breath and see,

See if there's a part of you that is willing to get to know,

That is willing to connect.

Let it know that I'm not here to force you.

I'm here to offer you hope,

The hope of freedom,

The hope that things don't have to be as they have been,

The hope of more.

Ask the part,

If there is a way to release what's not yours,

Would you be interested?

Do you really want to keep carrying this?

Because you know,

You don't have to.

Let it know that you're curious.

What are you afraid would happen if you let it go,

Even at 1%?

Take a minute and just pause and listen.

Let it feel your presence,

Your understanding,

And your sense of calm.

And if it feels okay,

It feels well to do so,

Just honor your protectors.

Take a moment just to say thank you,

To honor them,

To acknowledge them,

To address any concerns that they may have with reassurance and pacing.

Now,

Invite a sacred container to just come around your body,

A sphere of light,

Tinted with a color that feels protective and safe.

And inside this safe sphere,

Speak clearly.

Anything that is not mine,

Anything that I have absorbed through harm,

Manipulation,

Gaslighting,

Betrayal,

Humiliation,

Neglect,

I'm preparing to return it to its rightful owner.

Now,

Imagine you can hold this burden outside of your body,

Like a stone or a cloak or a symbol.

You don't have to go into a lot of detail,

But return it.

What is not mine goes back.

Without revenge,

Without attachment,

Without continued relationship,

Unless I choose to do so.

It goes back to its rightful owner or to the creator.

Or to the elements to be transformed.

I invite the earth to take it and make it compost.

I invite the water to wash off whatever tries to clink.

I invite the fire to burn all that is toxic.

I invite the air to carry away what is stale.

I invite radiant light to restore the space where it lived.

Now,

Check your body.

Where do you feel are refreshing?

Even if it's subtle.

More space,

A deeper breath,

An increased softness,

A sense of neutrality.

Take a moment just to see if any portion of it is legacy.

Something that's been inherited through your family or your culture,

Your lineage.

I just ask,

Would it be helpful to invite the highest,

Most healed essence of your ancestors who are connected to this?

Not to excuse the harm,

But to support its release.

And if that feels right,

Invite them.

Invite them in as witnesses of the repair.

And say,

This ends with me.

This does not get to live on in my marrow anymore.

I honor what you survived.

And I refuse to pass this forward anymore.

Release it.

Return it.

Now call back what belongs to you.

Your clarity.

Your dignity.

Your voice.

Your laughter.

Your tenderness.

Your strength.

Your hope.

Your love.

Your identity.

Your beingness.

Call it back.

What is mine returns to me clean.

What is mine returns to me whole.

What is mine returns to me protected.

And with this vow,

I speak truth to those who came before me and those who will come after me.

I rise.

I return.

I release.

I remain.

And I did it so that you can do the same.

And when you are ready,

I invite you to come back to this space,

To this place,

To this time.

By wiggling your fingers and wiggling your toes.

Letting your parts know that you appreciate them.

That you thank them for whatever they were able to release.

In whatever way they were able to release.

And for what they were able to reclaim.

Thank you so much for tuning into this meditation.

The return ceremony.

Giving back what was never yours.

Thank you.

And bye-bye for now.

Thank you.
