Hello,
This is Melina,
And I'm so glad you're here.
Maybe you know that feeling of always having to hold everything together.
Keeping things running,
Holding others,
Holding yourself.
That quiet pull inside,
That whispers,
If I stop holding,
Everything might fall apart.
Now,
Take a slow breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
And while doing so,
Try to let your shoulders soften a bit.
Very well.
And if you like,
You can place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
And now,
Feel the warmth of your palms,
The gentle rise and fall of your breath.
Very well.
Now,
We often believe that trust comes when we finally have enough control,
When everything is organized,
Secure,
And predictable.
What we often forget is that real trust begins where control is no longer needed to feel safe.
So,
As you sit here,
Your hands resting on your body,
Feel this truth.
You are not only planning and thinking your way through life,
You are breathing,
Sensing,
Living.
Your body is holding you without you doing anything at all.
Maybe you learned early in life that being good means being responsible,
Keeping everything together,
Making sure everyone else is okay.
The thing is,
Control is exhausting.
And trust nourishes.
Now,
Take another slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Let go just a little.
Because nothing needs to be fixed right now.
Nothing needs to be held together.
Your body is holding you.
And your body is breathing for you.
Stay here for a moment with your hands with this warmth and with this knowledge.
You can let go and you can be held.
And if you want to,
You can take this moment and this knowledge with you and into your day.
Whenever you notice yourself slipping back into overfunctioning,
Managing,
Holding everything together,
You can come back to this moment,
Place a hand on your heart,
And remember safety isn't something I have to create,
It is something I can return to.
Thank you for giving yourself this moment.
