We all carry emotions we've tucked away - sometimes for years - and this guided practice creates a safe space where those feelings can finally be seen and released. Through gentle body awareness and self-compassion, you'll connect with whatever's been weighing on your heart. Unlike meditations focused just on calm, this one makes room for the full depth of your emotional world, including those healing tears that have been waiting to fall. Come back to this practice whenever life feels heavy or when you sense there's something deeper needing your attention. Remember, sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply let yourself cry.

Welcome to the sacred space of emotional release.

This meditation is designed to help you acknowledge,

Honour and release the emotions you've been carrying in your shadow,

Those feelings that may have been waiting for permission to surface.

Remember that crying is not just healthy,

But a profound form of self-healing.

Tears release stress hormones and toxins from the body while activating your parasympathetic nervous system.

There is wisdom and healing in your tears.

Take this meditation at your own pace,

Pause whenever you need more time.

This is your journey.

Find a comfortable position where you feel safe and supported.

This could be sitting,

Lying down or even curled up in comforting position.

Have tissues nearby.

Close your eyes and begin to deepen your breath.

Inhale fully and exhale completely.

Again,

Breathe in deeply and breathe out any tension.

One more time,

Inhale and exhale.

Feel your body becoming heavier,

More relaxed.

Imagine you are surrounded by a gentle,

Protective light.

This is your sacred space where all emotions are welcome.

Nothing is too big or too small to be felt here.

Take a moment to set an intention for this practice.

Perhaps it's simply,

I give myself permission to feel.

Bring awareness to your physical body.

Notice where you might be holding tension.

Is there tightness in your chest?

A heaviness in your heart?

A knot in your throat?

Simply observe these sensations without judgment.

As you breathe into these areas,

Imagine your breath softening any resistance you find there.

Meeting.

What waits in the shadows?

Now with compassion,

Turn your attention inward to the emotions you've been carrying.

What feelings have you been setting aside?

What tears have remained unshared?

Perhaps there's grief for something lost.

Disappointment that still stings.

Fear that feels too overwhelming.

Or even joy that was never fully expressed.

Whatever emerges,

Simply acknowledge its presence.

Say to yourself,

I see you,

I feel you.

Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.

Feel the warmth of your own touch.

As you breathe deeply,

Imagine you're creating more and more space within yourself.

Space for these emotions to move,

To breathe,

To be expressed.

With each exhale,

Allow any barriers around your heart to soften.

Now gently invite your tears forward.

They don't need to come right away.

There's no forcing,

Only permission.

Say to yourself,

It's safe to cry.

My tears are healing.

I honor their wisdom.

Remember the times you've held back tears.

The moments you told yourself to be strong.

The feelings deemed too much.

Know that strength isn't found in holding back.

True strength lies in allowing yourself to be authentically human in all your depth and vulnerability.

If tears come,

Welcome them.

Let them flow without restraint or analysis.

If tears don't come yet,

That's perfectly okay.

Simply acknowledge whatever is present.

Perhaps numbness,

Resistance,

Or uncertainty.

These two are valid experiences on your path.

Take a few minutes now in silence,

Giving yourself the gift of this emotional space.

There's nothing to fix,

Nothing to solve,

Only feeling to be felt.

Imagine any emotion that feels ready to be released flowing like water from your body.

Down your arms,

Your torso,

Your legs,

And out through your fingertips and toes.

With each tear that falls,

Or with each breath of tears haven't come.

Visualize releasing a small portion of what you've been carrying.

See these released emotions transforming into something beautiful as they leave you.

Perhaps light,

Or flowers,

Or stars.

Nothing is wasted.

All is transformed.

Place your hands together at your heart in a gesture of self-honour.

Say to yourself,

I honour these emotions and the strength it takes to feel them.

I honour my tears,

Those shared and unshared.

I honour my journey.

Begin to deepen your breath once more,

Feeling the solid ground beneath you.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Bringing gentle movement back to your body.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes,

Coming back to the present moment.

Know that this meditation is here for you whenever you need a safe space to feel and release.

Your emotions,

All of them,

Are valuable messengers carrying wisdom.

Your tears are sacred waters of healing.

Be gentle with yourself for the rest of this day.

Your emotional courage deserves tender care.

Thank you for honouring yourself with this practice of emotional release.
