Whether your day is just beginning or you're feeling overwhelmed from work and responsibilities, this five-minute meditation is designed to help you reset and find calm amongst the chaos. You'll be guided to anchor yourself in the present moment using your senses: sight, touch, sound, smell, and taste. So often, we're either rehashing events from the past or rehearsing events that haven't happened yet, and this can create a lot of stress in the mind and body. This practice encourages you to slow down, tune into your environment, and reconnect with your breath. Whether sitting, standing, or lying down, you'll discover a simple way to bring clarity and a sense of grounding to your day. Track: Music of Wisdom - The 7 Healers Vol. 3 - Root Chakra

Hello,

It's Eve here.

Thank you for joining me in this short practice.

So if your thoughts are spinning and your mind feels really busy,

Let's use this time to reset and anchor yourself in the here and now by tuning into your senses.

So sitting comfortably or you can lie down or even stand up,

Whatever feels best.

And keeping your eyes open but softening your gaze,

Relaxing your jaw.

Let's begin by taking a slow,

Gentle breath in through your nose and a long exhale through your mouth and bringing your attention to your body.

The feeling of your body being supported by the surface beneath you.

And now gently look around and silently name five things you can see,

Noticing shapes,

Colors or patterns,

No matter how simple.

And it's okay if your mind gets distracted,

Simply coming back to what you can see.

And now tuning into four things you can physically feel.

It could be the clothing against your skin,

A soft breeze,

Your hands resting in the lap or the gentle rise and fall of your breathing.

And now let's tune into what you can hear.

So noticing three sounds in your environment and it's okay if they are subtle,

A distant hum,

Of course my voice or perhaps the sound of birds outside.

And now engaging your sense of smell,

Breathing in and noticing two different scents.

Could be the smell of your coffee or just the air around you.

And it's okay if it's really subtle.

And lastly,

Noticing one thing you can taste.

Perhaps it's the aftertaste of your coffee or tea or it's just a neutral taste.

And then gently bringing your attention back to your breath.

Taking another slow inhale,

Nice slow exhale.

And acknowledging the calm and clarity,

However small,

That comes from simply being present.

Tuning into your senses and giving your mind a moment to reset in your day.

Thank you for joining me in this short practice and know that you can return to it at any time in your day.
